        It allows for adjustment of where the bolt sits in the breech. Some of the timmy's bolts went to far back int the top tube allowing for double feeding. The adj. ram cap prevents that and also allows for adjustment with ram bumper wear. You screw in the inside part that pushes the ram and then thus the bolt forward.
