Forget the impulse. I have hold it, shoot it and i dont like it since is more heavier than a cocker with all the upgrades. (Im not weak or anything i just prefer a lighter marker since im a frontman.)

Get the bushmaster since it has break beam eyes, delrin bolt, lpr, a kick *** milling that makes the marker lighter than a feather and comes in fades.

Another thing the bushmaster stock i had an eficiency of +/- 2 or 3.

My bushmaster i think i will never replace it for nothing unless i get sponsored.

That was the best $630 that i have spent in my life.

I've been working on Imps, since there were Imps.

IMHO, there are only a few things you MUST have that don't come stock.

        1) Some kind of REAL Iso Mod for the solenoid (I say real, because the tapeworm is just a choke point, and doesn't help much.) Get an ND ISO ASA, or an LPR (The LPR is a waste though, if you run CO2, but that's another post).

        2) An Adjustable trigger. The ND blades are nice, as are the Werm Sticks, and a few others. SP blades kinda suck, but are better than nothing.

        3) New Grips. While the stock Imp grips in the newest SP catalog look like DYE knockoffs, any older Stock Imps will have these rock hard, uncomfy things on them. Ditch them, and you will WANT to hold the marker.

Here are a couple of things I recommend, but you can live without if money is tight. (don't do #1 without doing #2 though)

        1) Delrin Bolt & Titanium Pull Pin from ND. Much lighter than stock, and won't wear on the body like the stock alum bolt.

        2) If you get the delrin bolt, you pretty much have to get a heavier hammer to keep the internals balanced out. (Imps don't like for the hammer - bolt - pin - hammer shaft combo to get too light. Below a certain combined weight (I think its 1100 or 1200 grams but I cannot remember for certain), you won't be able to get much over 200fps velocity. Too much above that, and the marker will have a lot of kick.)

        3) IF LP is your thing, get an ND RIP Valve. We run our Imps at 90-100 psi input with the RIP valve.

        4) Frame angle. If you don't dig the stock frame, there are a few choices. You've got the Adrenaline frame (which I personally hate), the IFrame from HSW, and 90* Frames from Logic (from before I was on AO, and again, once I get this last batch of mag frames done) and OTB.

        Hope that helps you.

Imps don't need upgrades to play. To compete in tourneys, you should get a better barrel(any kit), a 4500psi tank, get the new Tadao board when it comes out(not out for Imps yet).

If you're really trying to get an Impulse I'm selling another one of my friend's markers.

It's a Dust Black Adrenalin Impulse w/ Vision and full freak kit and matching barrel. It already has a DNz LPR and Valve. Also Vertical Max Flo.

i have never owned an impy but the majoraty of my team (and other dudes i ply with) does

imo they suck out of the box

the stock trigger is the worst trigger in existance but the stock barrel is ok

NDZ (newdesignz) dispite the comps. stupid name makes the best impy parts (so i have been told)

if i was you this is what i would do

                      Pipe kit
OTB frame (best thing for an imp ever so comfy so fast)
                      shocktech supafly bolt
                      shocktech phat hammer
evil resperator (takes care of lpr/tape worm)
slap the rest with NDZ stuff
                      new feed neck (clamping)
ECS (its a mod look it up on PBN makes it ripping fast)

but honestly the only thing you really need is a new trigger .......teh stock ones deserve death

                      and about fills
a properly set up impy gets about 700-800 shots off of a 20 oz co2 (dont know why he dosent get hpa)
and a improperly set up one will take a 72/3000 from 2700psi down to 500psi in about 500 balls

                      hope that helps

My teammat purchased an Impulse, and I'll let you know my thoughts on it:

Stock, the Imp is really, really crappy. The stock trigger, as mentioned above, it HORRIBLE. It tends to have FSDO, and is just plain...well...crappy.

However, if you take the time to LEARN YOUR IMPULSE, it can be an awesome marker! My teammate (patrick) put a handful of upgrades into it, and now it's kicking butt! Seriously, I'm very, very impressed with it.

Here are the upgrades you'll be interested in:
                        Blade Trigger (an absolute MUST)
                        LPR (Also and absolute MUST)
New Designz internals (something to look forward to, not needed, but nice)
SlikShot RAM (also something to look to, but not mandatory)
HedLok feedneck (necessary, unless you like huge high-rises...)

In the end, it's about an $800 total marker (500 for imp, plus 300 in upgrades)
Patrick's marker performs as well as any of the 1200+ markers out there. It started off as the team joke and turned into..well...the team hotrod. Think of the Impulse as a low-end car. In the beginning, it's kinda "meh." Once you upgrade its performance, it turns heads!

He hasn't done any external upgrading yet...it still looks stock, which is pretty cool.
My AIM Intimidator is better than your Automag. Get over it.

Imps don't need much to preform nice.

                            New valve and hammer=waste
                            LPR=waste
New barrel=Waste unless you dont like 12

Imps needs a tapeworm, blade trigger, and a new bolt, and a was board.

www.paintballwholesalers.com sell a great imp package, for 425 you get a stock imp, vert maxflo, tapeworm, magno blade trigger, and some decent sp grips. Slap on a was board and you got the best brand new gun for 575 imo

Alright considering ive owned at least 6 impules, i hope i know what i am talking about...

First do not get an LPR...
I personally hate the lpr and rather just stay away from that area
if i were you i would get something like the VFF and not worry about properly setting up the lpr and crap like that...

Strange Bolt/Mini ND Bolt is a great bolt to have...
but i heard the new bolt from OTB (no-chop "blind" bolt)
is really nice and takes away the need for vision...

Trigger and Grips = user choice

You can get other items if you prefer like
ND SlickShot Ram, Rathole Hammer and maybe a valve
                                but thats user preference...

                                Another option is from e-paintballoutlet
Getting a package deal like the "Rat Factory Kit" for $119
New Designz "rip" valve, New Designz Slick shaft, New Designz Equalizer bolt, Super light Rat team Ti pull pin, Stainless steel Rat hole hammer (Customer may choose "custom" length bolt or Stubby size bolt)
                                or
                                "Ratified Kit" for $90
New Designz equalizer bolt, New Designz Slick shaft, Rat hole hammer, Rat Factory ultra light Ti pull pin

My friends stock impulse only has a nd bolt, vff and trigger
and will shoot great all day...

If i were you, i would just get myself an 03 rat impulse and be done with it :)
