I too wish I could be there this year, but it is not in the cards. However, next year I may end up fielding a rather large team. A bunch of my teams are making plans for it!

Shivors, you must take into account the cost of reproducing the image in magazines, posters, DVD covers, etc.

Too much graphic and/or color gets expensive. This design keeps it simple, yet fully effective in getting the message across with no clutter.

Competely understood but even at that there was a kickass design that had 2-3 colors. Just my opinion.

Not to take away from Mooses effort...that effort got him 500 AGD bucks...


PS...in the future they may be MUCH better served if they asked for what they wanted. (ae. We all could have focused on limited colors etc.etc.)

Yes, it would have been nice if we kind of knew what he wanted but I guess he didn't want to limit people's creativity. I have had some very very limited experience in print work so I had a hunch about keeping it simple/ not using complex graphics/many colors. And as they say "Keep it simple, stupid." To be fair, there were many very nice designs. I am just as surprised as anyone that I won. I am sure there will be many other opportunities like this one.
Also, I agree, there were some other designs that were just as good, if not better than mine. But they were looking for a concept and not necessarily a final design. They design I turned in wasn't the same as the final design. I think they really like the simple silhouette/gun blast idea so they used it. Then they used the font from another design. After that the good people at AGD took my basic ideas and ran with them...
