    White ano

I always heard you can not have a white ano, however a few people were telling me that they were offered just more expensive. Where can this be done if it even can? Is it true?

I think the closest you can get to white is dust silver. Ask an annodizing company to be sure.

      Here's a current thread on it: http://www.automags.org/forums/showthread.php?t=140037

This probably doesn't help much but I think I've seen a few pics of guns with white anno. It might have been powdercoated but I'm pretty sure it was anno

You can't get white anno. What you can do is have clear that is bead blasted. It comes out looking white.

No such thing as white anno. It is a VERY dusted (blasted) finish that has clear anno. The texture is what makes it appear white...

White would be a titanium oxide ano.

I've seen all those pics, and someone from MaxAno informed me that the timmy was indeed a pigment, not a bead blast.

The Timmy was stated by the owner as being Powder coat.

There is no truly "white" anno,it's simply not manufactured or sold.

I don't understand why a white anno couldn't be done. If you can have a white dye, then you can have a white anno. Its the dye in the pores of the aluminum that gives it the color. Its possible that its hard to get an even dye job using white. Maybe its more hastle than its worth. Most places probably don't carry the color due to low demand.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

That's just it though... you can't actually dye aluminum white. There are special types of dye for leather and cloth, but on metal it will come out silver or dull gray.

If you want white, you have to powdercoat it.

That timmy is indeed annoed, it is the one off MaxAnos gallery. To get a "white" finish it is actually annoed clear, but with more current than is usually used on colored dyes. The dust finish really makes it look more white, on a polished body it looks like a pale silver.

Exactly. It's not truly white... it's just looks that way because of the reflective properties of the dusted finish. It's still silver.
