Anyone else have the same issue i do? (people buying the same gear)

I have this issue that I want to be original with my markers...

First, it was the silver m98c when everyone had black ones, or spyders, or tigersharks, whatever.

Next, it was having a mag (omega rail) when everyone was up to 98cs, or A5s

After that, it was a warp, rt valve, nitro, etc.

Soon after, picked up a KAPP pnue'd cocker, I had two nice guns, they had an A5 as top.

Then, I was first with an e-gun, a ebolted 98c.

It was disapointing, so I got an ULE RTP

I also had a pipe or a freak on all of these, when there was 1 non-stock barrel out of our 15 or so guys.

That was all mostly with friends in the woods and such.
    __________________________________________________

I used the RTP on fields, but once I started going to the fields weekly, or every-other-week, I sold both the RT's

So, January of this year, I bought a Speed Demon. There may have been one Speed prior to mine, which I shot and liked. After mine, two other people bought them, and a few weeks ago a whole team bought speeds. I was still the only Red Speed, much less, a Dark series.

Soo, I traded the Speed on an Emag. I couldn't deal with running out of air on a 68/4000 fill.

The next decision was to trade the emag on a featherlite viking.

Now, I'm frustrated because one of the kids is trying to trade his warped rt on a viking all over AO. He shot my viking yesterday, and had like 20 posts for vikings last night.

And, we had ordered team empire gear a month ago, and the kid trying to get the viking's team bought probably 10 sets of the empire gear, although theirs is the more readily available blue, and ours is red, it still bothers me.

The captain of this team (viking boy/empire gear), mimicks my teammate, and buys an intimidator. Unfortunetally, our markers are better than the ones they are looking at, with the viking guy looking at nelson boarded 2k3 half/unmills, and the captain buying an Alias. My teammate bought a blue-black Naughty Dog timmy, and I have a 2k3 JMJ Swirl Featherlite.

    ..../end rant

Congratulations if you read all that.

    Anyone else have similar problems?

unfortunatly, its pretty hard to be original. i mean, as far as high end markers go, emags and vikings are pretty rare....compared to ya know, eblades and trixxes and stuff. Same with apparel.....i mean, other than smalll companys, its basically empire, dye or JT. i guess just go play. I mean, its really not that important. Think of big time teams.....think of a big name that shoots something other than a timmy, trix, shocker or eblade. theres not many.

I'm kind of the same way, I had to buy empire gear instead of dye just so I wouldn't lose track of myself on the field.

The gear thing isnt my big issue, I realize there are only so many companies who make decent stuff.

However, the hours after he shot my marker, hes trying to pick one up especially irks me.

What size empire pants do you guys have, and what are they supposed to fit?

does it really matter, think of yourself as a trend setter. However, originality does get you prop points. For example, me and my friend are the only people who own Mag's at the Rich Telford's field in Modesto. Everyone always thinks they're the new shockers or nerves or something like that. It makes you feel good when you're remembered because you're original.

Have you never heard "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"?

If you really want to be original, you'll have to get custom gear, not off-the-shelf. Or at least something that is out of production.

That's why everything I use gets totally carved up and re-anno'd. Well that's not the only reason but one of.

Well, can't help with the custom markers, but for custom jerseys and stuff you can try Animal Paintball. Look 'em up on the web, and see if that's what you want to do.

I do the same thing. I saw a pic with an sto cocker ( I have one as well) with an eblade. But now that I saw that, I have to get a Race frame. He's just some punk trying to look good and cool. Just bunker him every game and maybe throw in a bonus ball or two.

I was unique here because I used a mag and then everybody got them. So I got an e-mag.

                              Good God!

How about saving a boatload of money and hassle and be original in the only way that counts?

Play all-round good, honest, stand-up paintball?

Be really original and do all that AND win!

If you MUST base your self-worth/image on logos, brands, and equipment, the only really original that few will copy is: Use a Splatmaster!

Or come up with something really original. Few have copied Tyger.
