agreed, they absolutely rock! Finally a Euro (yes Russian Legion are considered Euro) team that could take on the yanks! I think the last one was The Predators.

From what I've read of their training schedule and methods they're easily going to be one of the scariest teams this season. I can't wait to see how they perform.

If you get the chance to watch em.....take it. The Euro teams, I agree are not up to scratch with the Americans. But we do have some good teams that regularly place in the NPPL Pro league, like TonTon (I know I'm not fond of the French either), Joy Division and such like, and I watched the Russian team mow everything in its path last weekend in Amsterdam and they made these teams look like Amateurs. They simply outclass all of us by a massive margin.

Dynasty were playing Div1 on the other field and looked strong as ever, but the Russians seemed to be like killing machine robots from hell. They had style, aggression, and above all control. They controlled every aspect of Xball. I hate to say it but I think Dynasty would struggle on an Xball field against them. I think everyone will.

Whens the next PSP? I think that or the next one will be the first chance you guys will get to see the Legion in action against some true Pro teams. Watch out for the 12yr old looking 4ft dude. He will make your jaw drop.

I've been a fan of Russian Legion after reading about their training regimen and watching vids of them playing. These guys are monsters on the field....hopefully they do well they deserve alot of credit for how good they are.

I was reading an article by Robo, in one of the magazines, and he summed it up to agression, and style of play. He was speaking of Nexxus they would try to play technical ball with all the Amercian teams, and the American teams just being aggressive as hell running through Nexxus's side of the field would beat them everytime.

A sound technical game is key, but also you have to have that aggression to know when to run up the field and bunker a guy.

i think its the fact that paintball is so accessable to the American public. You have paintball parks where Pro teams hang out and train alongside Joe Schmoe. This in turn brings the player base up to scratch with modern paintball.

In England, for example, Pro teams have to buy their own field and at most invite another team or teams down to train. So "normal" types, first timers and such don't ever know it exists. There could be potential Ollie Langs out there and we will never know it.

The Russians identified that their player base was really tiny due to the sheer expense of paintball, so they train and train and train some more, the players that they got., and make them world champions. Or soon to be at least.

Wow, I never ave heard mch about paintball in England. Is it legal for ordinary citizens to go out and buy a pb gun, like are there "pro-shops" or anything? I would be interested to know.

hehe yes mate there is! WDP hails from Birmingham England, AGDEurope is in Colchester, NPSEurope is in Colchester, Planet (E-Blade) has a shop somewhere, maybe two, SmartParts Europe is in England, FatBobs is up North somewhere, Rekka is English, and there are many more.

So thats the Angel, Xmag and the E-blade Eclipse, all invented and produced in England.

Plus Manike helper and maker of everything, but mainly the timmy is English.

What do the Americans do again? (hehe joking) We just can't play thats all

oh yeah and PGI is (was) based in Colchester also.

You said the pro's would have to buy their own fields? Why dont they play at established fields?

what established fields? We don't have any/many. We have lots and lots of rec sites, where rec ballers/1st timers go, but there aren't Pro fields unless its a tournie site. You can't really just pop over to a local field and play anyday you want. Doesn't work like that here. So we buy our own Xball fields and invite teams over.

I know its hard to understand as you guys have paintball parks with 100's of fields with Pro sections etc. Crazy! Wish I lived there!
