    Are RT Valves Legal

I've been wondering a lot about this subject and now that i've seen it happen i'm even more concerned. The topic that is very important to me right now is the matter with rt mags being illegal in tourneys. I've posted about this already before but i asked the owner of the local shop here and he said that you can't even get into tourneys if you have a rt valve in your mag. This is HUGE because now i don't know whether to stick with my mag and see what happens or to buy and angel.

My friends went to a tourny and asked if mags were legal and they answered, "yes, unless they have those rt valves in them."

    PLEASE RESPOND
 I had a paintball gun and i knew how to use it

People who automatically assume the RT valve is illegal are normally not educated on mags enough to know that an X-valve is functional the same.

Frankly, as long as there is nothing you can do to make your marker fire more than one shot per pull at chronoed maximum or below, it is legal.

The X-valve can be bouncey, and illegal if set up improprly, but as logn as one pull fires on shot, it is legal. I have not ever had a problem at a tourney with mine.

maybe an RT that is bouncing .. but properly set up it wont bounce... so why and how could they be illegal if set up right?

I never had any problems. Actually now that they are "X" valves there should be no problem. The issue is whether or not you can sweet spot the trigger. If you can then yes it is illegal. Your shop owner is suffering from notkeepinguponthetechnologyitis. I suspect you'll get more questions about being sure you want to get into the tourney with a mechanical gun than you will about it being and RT valve.

Got busted with one yesterday. Cop said got any coke, underage naked chics or hot guns in the car. I said no. Then he asked if I had an RT valve in the car. I said yes then he cuffed me. Yep, he said RT valves are not legal.

I was going to make a joke that it is not legal for RT's to drive or smoke. It is legal for them to play paintball thou.

Now it's just not as funny

seriously with ult the valves bounce should be non existant... oh and even a properly setup valve will bounce its just harder to find the sweetspot.. the thing is alot of people in paintball dont figure tweaking into it so once they feel an rt with a 1000 psi input bounce they assume that another rt running with 700 psi input will do the same!!!

You should ask the owner of the local shop to join the forum so we can educate him, since you seem rather anxious to follow his advice.

That's presuming he can read and write, and knows what the Internet is, of course.

Properly set up it wont bounce. There is no sweetspot. If the valve piston is factory set at 800 to 850 and its not USER adjustable how can you get 1000psi input with out it venting? AGD has never promoted condoned or approved of bouncing. Its an out of the box gun.

If ya dont mess with it its fine.

The valve piston doesn't care what the input pressure is. It cares what the internal reg pressure is.

How do you think they tested the 26bps claim on the RT valves? They cranked the input pressure & used a computer to pull the trigger.

Hell, the valve itself will take 3000psi.
