Nah, what tank do you have.
Burst disks are meant to blow at 4500 aren't they?
Sounds like the manufactor put the wrong burst disk on

I thought they were meant to blow at just over 3000psi on 3000psi tanks and just over 4500psi on 4500psi tanks.

FYI,
All operating PSI burst discs will blow eventually, meaning the 3K on a 3K tank, the 1.8K on a CO2 tank etc. It's not always someones fault, just metal fatigue over time and after numerous fills. I usually change mine ever year regardless.

Wrong.
3000's have 4500 burst disks, 4500 have 7500 burst disks.
3000 cylinders are hydrotested to 4500psi, and 4500 are hydrotested to 7500psi

but yeah what he said
I usually get a new tank every year so it doesn't matter

its the same thing with masks they can handle more than 300 fps for obvious reasons like if a hot shot happens your still protected but you shouldnt be getting shot in the face at 400 fps a bunch of times and expect to be safe when ever you use that mask

magman007 : could have sworn it was 150% of what it's used at...
Ilikepb : You could but it's not recommended because the regulator isn't rated to that much higher, Probably about 5000-5500?
When they hydro-test they take the regulator off the cylinder and fill it up in a secure spot and in an enclosed case (so if it doesn't work it opens up inside the case vs. next to people testing)
I've seen 3000 tanks been accidently filled to 4200-4300, they worked fine but the tank started to expand and get really warm :oMy Feedback

what????????????????????????
This is TRUE and what Fireblade said also. What have you learned from this???wrong 3000's are tested at 5000 psi
Buy backup burst discs,[they will blow sooner or later even if its not over filled] and bleed off tank next time.
As far as all the other comments on burst disks goes, I think you all need to get your facts right.

I'm no expert but...
If that means a co2 tank is 1.8k then I'm guessing it would blow if you put 3k in it.Originally posted by RRfirebladeFYI,
