I believe the best way to make a mag shorter is to use a minimag body as the twistlock barrell allows the barrel to be further back into the body. My setup is 13.5 inches long atm but If you push it to the limit you could probably get one just over 12 inches.

Are there a size difference between the stock right feed stell bodies and the minimag bodies.Originally posted by The Spanish InquisitionI believe the best way to make a mag shorter is to use a minimag body as the twistlock barrell allows the barrel to be further back into the body. Minimag bodies are just longer and heavier. The only reason to get one is because you like the looks. (But what do I know. Seems 90% of all paintball equipment is sold for looks not function.Originally posted by coolcatpeteAre there a size difference between the stock right feed stell bodies and the minimag bodies.

I doubt any of the bodies are really any shorter if you consider equal barrel lengths after the breech.

So your saying "FOR SURE" that given two guns, one with a twistlock system, one with cocker threads, and two barrels of the same effective length, one is not shorter than the other? Im having a hard time beleiving that, but I don't have a ule to measure right now.

they are all milled from the same slugs, though.. Just one body has more material around the barrel than the others.

exactly. the barrel threads are pre-tapped on the slugs when they are shipped from AGD.

The twistlock is about 1 inch shorter then the ULE. In the picture all have a 14inch barrel. The bottom seems a little longer cause in not lined up right.Originally posted by The Spanish InquisitionSo your saying "FOR SURE" that given two guns, one with a twistlock system, one with cocker threads, and two barrels of the same effective length, one is not shorter than the other? Sorry, but the minimag body is the longest bodies of all mag bodies. The chord body would effectively be as long as a classic mag body. The body to rail specifications from one body to the next are the same, you cannot change how the body mounts to the rail.
To answer your question, the chord would be the shorter of the 2 bodies. The front of the ULE actually will protrude almost an inch more than a chord. The chord ends up almost even with a stock AM/MM rail.
Hope this helps
