    Trade advice?

Should I trade my 2K LCD Angel for this F5 Autococker?

I don't like the big blocky thing or the mess @#$ pneus. But anyone know performance wise how F5's are?

An F5 maybe, that one likely not

That big blocky box on the bottom is not that bad to get used to, but it does denote that it is one of the earlier F5's. F5 use an industrial type of eye, those that have them, and its on the opposite side of the body as that one.

As for perfromance, F5s are in essence a crash between an Angel and an Autococker (TM) type marker ( K2).

They use the basic operating principles of a closed bolt marker and the firing system of an Angel - very quick, very little perceived recoil and they tend to be HEAVY.

They are also known to be tempermental, but I think that goes with any high end marker

This is an old F5, that much I know. Here's the other side.

          First generation F5.

That one has the normal F5 covers, I am going to assume that they have the standard F5 eyes -which are some of the best non break-beam eyes out there IMHO..

The old ones do have an advantage, the grip is "normal" width. What i mean by that, due to heat concerns the new style grips are wider, the battery sits sideways inside them. I dont like the feel of this newer style.

Overall... its all a matter of personal opinion, the F5s are problematic, but I would assume no more than an Angel or other high end marker. The standard selling point, if you want to buy hype is "The speed of an Angel, the accuracy of a 'cocker (TM)"

Is there already an ASA in that big blocky thing, or would I still need to add one?

I personally LOVED the F5 Sandridge that I used when they came out. In many ways it is superior to the all the other "E" conversions out there. As for trading for an angel.. dunno. If its in full working order, it may be worth it. That choice would be entirely up to you. Good luck.

Personally, I'd keep the Angel. I haven't shot an F5, but I had a Worrbladed cocker before. Honestly, things are just plain simpler with a fully electopneumatic gun than with a converted hybrid. You don't have to worry about lug depth, the sear not dropping, timing, etc. Like most people have said though, the choice is up to you.

I had an older F5 about 3 years ago, I never had a problem with it. It was pretty fast too. If you like cockers go for it. It shouldn't be any faster than your Angel though, considering it uses an Angel trigger frame and trigger. The main reason I wouldn't get an F5 is because, to my knowledge, there is no company to service them if you did have a problem. Sandridge is no more, they sold to another company who either quit making the gun or sold it to another company that did nothing with it, I can't remember which, but I'm pretty sure that's what happened. If you aren't afraid of fixing it yourself if it brakes and you like cockers and want something probably no one at your field has, then this is a good gun, if not, I would stick with the Angel.

Parts are questionably available on them - Sandridge was sold to.. I forget who, it is in theory available for sale again should anyone want to buy it. The parts still pop out from time to time, though they may be from the original manufacturer - actually builder, they aer all basically custom built. As far as e-bladed cockers, this think, when working correctly, is the best electro cocker out there. I might be able to get you a number for parts if you need them - I need to ask the person first
