O-Ring Kits and Hardware Stores

The other day I was forced to order a 15 dollar Intimidator O-ring kit that included about 12 orings for my gun. Do you guys know of any hardware store that I could take the kit to and get more of each oring? How much do orings go for outside of the paintball industry? I'm just sick of paying 1 dollar for an oring that may only cost 12 cents.

Most o-rings if you go to a hardware store are anwhere from $.15 to $.50 each. I have a couple $4,000 o-rings at home though :) It's not like you could ebay them, but thats how much they cost at the time. I still owe sarah one, she wanted a $4,000 o-ring.

Most hardware stores don't carry the right materials though. Most o-rings you find in hardware stores tend to be neoprene, which is fairly soft. It works ok with HPA, it sucks with CO2. I've used them in my Spyder but I don't know if I'd trust them in any other marker.

So I'd want to look for the polyurethane ones correct? Where would be my best bet though?

Not sure. Grainger prolly has em, but I think you need to be a business to shop there.

Butyl-Nitrate is good, I think, as is Viton. I think the paintball standard is urethane, but if you aren't using CO2 and don't have to worry about freezing/corrosion, other materials are fine.

Hmm, so you guys don't think a place like Ace Hardware or a plumbing store would have them??

Probably not. O-Rings are specialty items, most people never need to use them. The ones at, for example, Home Depot, are for plumbing applications usually, which are larger than you'd need.

Refrigerator ORing Kit

I've never had the need to try it, but I have been told that refrigerator oring kits are supposed to work well for servicing paintball markers.

You could use AC o-rings from a parts store.. but your not going to save any money, there probably more expensive.. they are, I just looked
