Evening AO. I was staring at my site and finally decided to do something about what I suspected for some time. I made the Gallery section a Mag only layout. I mean who sees my site in general and cares enough to send me a pict now and then? AO.... yeah.
Now it's not like there are not already a large number of places where people put up their Mags and I think that Jayloo is doing a great job. However, its my site and if I want a little gallery I get to try and make one so there.
The redone, but worthlessly empty new gallery layout
Besides the obvious layout changes (the main sections will have a thumbnail that you click on so you can see more images and scroll less; I HATE scrolling). I upped the picture size to 800x600 and ditched that odd ball format of 600x400 (not sure why I did that one). Do you think I should go larger? I like being able to look at larger pictures as you can always shrink them down but I don't think you want to get above 1600x1200. Oh and I hope you don't mind that I just looked around for decent pics of each marker category and made them the buttons (anyone see their baby?)
Lastly, as you can also see, those of you who submitted pictures no longer have them up. That is partly my fault for not keeping the originals and also because many of them were tiny pictures to start with. I would like to get pictures that are posed more than just taken on next to the computer with the web cam so I am willing to make this a drawn out production.
So I ask you, from what you can see of the gallery (all blank but the Mech and SFL sections) do you think it's better? I will probably have to make a special post regarding the SFL section. I would really like to get a picture of all the SFL's made and a little history write-up on each one. Most of them seem to have a little flourish somewhere in their existence. The thread here has some of them but it' not really clear how many we have listed much less who owns them. I have not done anything for mine yet as I want to get a few SFL's and other markers up.
I'll be interested to see if this new gallery goes the way of the first one
