Gforce's 68super vs. HAir Trigger?

I tried it yesterday at IAO. Can't even compare to the Hair Trigger. Doesnt shoot fast at all. The guy said it was cycling, I asked him what it chronoed and he said 280, but there was no air coming out of the barrel

All of you who haven't shot it shouldn't bash it. I mean it's not a two tube cheaterboard equiped electro, that earns some cool points right there. It's something different, something I think we should encourage more in paintball. I just think it's refreshing to see something unique.

Maybe b/c it operates at 6.5 psi? Or is that my brain is just shot at 1:30 am?

The ram operates at 6.5psi, it doesn't shoot the ball with 6.5psi. So the bolt moves foward with 6.5psi and then the air hits the ball. And if the guy has the marker out for dry firing I'm sure he turned down the velocity so he could get more shots per fill.

Ok, let me address some rumors here. I'm sure Colin from DeadlyWind, and maybe even Tom will chime in on this one. Garfield called me this morning after I had emailed him last week as he wanted to let me (and others) know what was going on.

Garfield at GForce met up with Colin and he is satisfied there is no conflict. GForce is interested in the Marker, as a whole, not in what Colin is doing as a Mag Upgrade. So, Mag users have no worries at all.

The GF Marker at IAO was an 11th hour prototype strictly to demo the trigger walking capabilities and prove that no matter what, the gun will not chop paint. Final version will have some milling although GF is wanting to leave meat for custom milling. GF will sell the guns "raw" as AKA did, to certain select shops that can do the work......

If you wish to know anything else, there is quite a bit more. Concerns over the patent can more easily be answered by Colin at DeadlyWind since my info is heresay....


So, nothing for us Mag guys to worry about and it looks like there will be a competitive, very fast, non-electro closed bolt out fairly soon.

jeez, i was absolutely un impressed by the marker. It is expensive, and the guy's didnt seem to know what the heck they were really talking about. I wasnt impressed by the company, who was supposedly been releasing the dreamfire loader for what... 5 years now?


i dunno, but i wont be dealing with em, plus, the trigger sucked.

Well, either way, I'm holding any judgements until I shoot a production model. Also, we have to give GForce alot of credit. Garfield told me that his patent did include the terms "pneumatic operated trigger". I am also convinced that they applied before DeadlyWind. So, if they (GForce) wanted to be dicks about the whole thing, they could technically shut down any other air activated trigger production. May take an amendment or two, but it is possible. Like I stated before, they are intested in their property rights concerning the marker, as a whole, and it's operational aspects...so, a big kudos to Garfield and GForce for their non-greedy approach to paintball in the 21st century. It does seem to be an exception these days.

Even when these guns don't chop paint, they lose a shot, and ACE systems always gives a shot, because they'll wait for your loader.


The trigger doesn't have bounce, which, believe it or not, is a big reason people buy electros. Say what you want, but most people don't think having the odd shot added here and there is a bad thing.

I'm sure that the waterproof/reliability is a big issue, since most people won't be using the flawed and expensive qloader with these.

IMO, there's NO REASON to concentrate on mechanical anti-chop and speed increases.

Electros will ALWAYS do it better. For LESS than what the HAIR trigger will cost, you could get a spyder frame, dye sticky 3's, a T-board, an ACP slasher trigger, with eyes, and a 25g trigger switch, and mate it to your mag. It's been done. If you don't want to spend money on the ULT to tax the solenoid less, buy a pack of rechargable AA batteries and stick them under your tank cover. Heck, I've seen some super cheap ($85) classics lately, I'm thinking about doing it myself.

Viola! A solution BETTER than the vaunted hair trigger, that's available NOW. The only reason the Hair trigger is so impressive is because its mechanical...but in the very same video, its being fed by a HALO...so much for cutting off the need for batteries, huh?

I think that is the big IF right now, how much? If I were to guess it isnt going to be cheap, maybe hyperframe country. In this case we are looking a the cost of an RTP less trigger frame upgrade, mid 6's to low 7's.

I have yet to fire the hAir but I am willing to give it a try. However the post by electrian leads me to believe that the electro option allows for addtional trigger control.

I never saw a need for a electronic version either. To me it was always a gimmick. Anto-Chop bolts, etc. If the gun is functioning properly, with properly cared for paint, and properly fed, there is no excuse for a gun to chop paint. I never chopped paint with the old original Mags either. Just me, I guess The sales market, money wise, is not in electros that spew 25 BPS...if it were then Tippmann would not have sold for what it did. Their sales figures were higher than SP's and WDP's combined. It's educational to see 4000 players together at once and only a small percentage carrying guns that use batterys.

We don't see to see the "best", the "fastest", the "prettiest"...only something that will offer us an option on firepower...and it doesn't have to have an eye or a battery to open a hole in a huge market.

We are referring to a "market" here. For all the new buyers that enter the sport on a yearly basis, how many buy vs. how many build? See.....the fact one can piece something together has no real bearing...never has.

At least we are not paying SP a royalty to put a battery in a hopper. The point behind a fast gun that doesn't use battery's has nothing to do with the battery itself. Unless one works for SP, most anyone else will always prefer to see "options".

You make some good points, particularly about the ACE. However, electros WILL become less of a market, regardless of demand, as companies that build some of the best electros out there (AKA) decide they can't afford a SP liscence. I'm not so good at picking up sarcasm on the net, so was that a legitimate dig on the Q, or were you being fascisious?

I think that no matter how nice the hAIR of the 68 super is, electros will always be the #1 sellers. The triggers are easier to adjust (just look at the a4), simpler, allow people to bounce and ramp.
