Swept Powerfeed on old RTs-What to do?

    Hey all,

I recently picke up an old RT, one of the ones with the swept back powerfeed. I intend on running both warp and std., and heard the swept back feed was prone to chopping.

Anyways, I previously read that TK said all those who disliked the swept feed had it replaced/repiared. So will I have chopping problems? If so, what can I do? Will AGD replace or repair it? Or is there something I can do?

The original RT's where only prone to chopping if they weren't made JUST right. If you've gotten one after all of this time, I would have to assume that it works, because I wouldn't suppose someone would have kept the body if it caused them to chop badly. So if it works I'd keep it, just because it is different. As far as hooking up a warp to it, I have no idea, I've never seen the body style RT and a warp at the same time, I have no idea if the feed tube is longer or what. But Dye is right you can alway go to the top of the feed tube.

The warp may eliminate those chopping problems.

The chopping problem was more perception than fact, we had to change them just to keep the image up. They were used in Europe for years without problems. The best addition would be the new parabollic power feed plug. That should eliminate any issues. You have a collector piece, I wouldn't mess with it.

Well if there wasn't anything wrong with them...

Hm, yeah- I'd keep that body, if i were you.. er, I mean i'd sell that body to me, if i were you
                It's a pretty rare piece..

TOM- hmm *idea*.. do you still have those old swept style bodies that were replaced?? perhaps you can sell them on the online store as a collectors/novelty item, a "use at your own risk" kinda piece..

yes the extended powerfeed plug will work but it is not a tight setup, over the top is the best way by far.
