    Opinions on the Halo TSA?

Lemme start this off by saying that I neither want nor need a Halo/Egg. I ran an Egg for a while. It's faster than I need and bigger/heavier than I want. My current loader is a Ricochet 2k and I seldom outshoot it, and the LX handles that just fine. But it's starting to get some major cracks and the LCD is kinda a pain, along with being an unneccessary battery drain.

I'm looking for a replacement. I want a small profile, light weight, single 9v loader that's going to give me mid-range (10bps+) feed rates and have decent battery life. Right now, I'm looking at either a Ricochet AK or Halo TSA LED.

So the question is whether the tilt-sensing function of the TSA actually makes enough of a difference to go with it rather than a loader I'm already semi-familiar with.

12 volt x boarded revvy. I know you said one 9 volt, but i definatly think its worth it to have a 12 volt. Theyre definatly faster than a riko, and not so damn huge as a TSA. They'll reliably feed 11-13. Theyre mad light, and the profile is low too. a revvy is tried and true.

edit: try and fnd pre-brass eagle shells. Theyre indesructable.

I have a TSA, it's a REALLY nice loader for $60. Much better than a revvy that's only $10 less new. The plastic on it is pretty thick, so it should last awhile. Seems to hold up real well to the elements from my experiences. When I was at Skirmish D-Day last month the thing got absolutely cover in paint/dirt and was sitting on my pretty damp tent floor for the night. It still worked like a champ. It is starting to crack above the feedneck area towards the front, but that's my own dumb fault for over-tightening the screw.

ive had a tsa, i like it , but if something breaks your screwed. youll get basiccally the sane perfornmance with the AK, and if you have a problem, ricochet will replace it no questioned asked. get the AK

I got a back man tsa for my warp fed x mag.
It was going to be my scenario marker...with the 200+ rnd capacity It was kinds nice.
Fed the warp fast enough and never had any issues with it.
For what your doing with it...I wouldnt go tsa.
I wouild use an x boarded revi. or one of the Rico loaders.

The TSA is great. It sometimes skips shots, but not a big deal. Yuo have two choices of sizes, backman and frontman. I have the frontman version. It's nice and small and not too heavy. It's perfect. If you get the frontman, since you most likely have 140 round tubes, your going to have to refill when you have almost nothing left. The frontman holds 150, and the backman holds 220. Then you have the option of led vs. lcd. The lcd will give you such features as a shot counter, or sound sensitivity adjustment. This is a great feature if you have a very quiet gun. But, it's not needed. I run a frontman led on my cocker, and it works great. No skipped shots, or at least that I noticed. It also has a 30 minute turn off feature. This helps you prevent unwanted battery drain and comes in handy when you just forget to turn it off. Also, like previously stated, the plastic is nice and thick. I also played with it in D-Day and it worked great. Took a beating and still came out on top. As for the tilt option, I think it's a great feature. I've always had my TSA and I have never had a problem with it feeding when it's tilted.

Is it better than the Revvy? Yes, I believe so.
Is it lighter? I doubt it.

Dont worry about not being famaliar with it. Simply hold the button down until the impeller stops spinning, its on. Do it again and it's off. Simple as that. Great hopper for the money.

            Edit-

Frontman dimensions and weight are as follows-
Just about 1 pound with 2 nine volts.
About 6 1/8 inches tall from bottom of feedneck
Just under 9 inchs from front tip to back battery cover.
            3 1/8 inches wide.
This was done on a frontman led.

Not really. On any of the counts above. Part of the reason I got a Riccy in the first place is that they outperformed the X-board in Warpig's bench test a while back. Too bad they haven't updated it with some of the newer loaders. Be real interesting to see how much hype's out there in the loader world.

I haven't sat a TSA next to a Revvy, but I know for a fact that the Riccy sits about a half inch lower and is skinnier by about 1/4". True, it's long, but if somebody's got you in side-sillouette, you're screwed anyways. If I get a TSA, it'll probly be a 'Frontman' anyway. As for weight, hold a 9v in your hand. That's the difference.

So, it seems the only thing you're right about objectively is that the shells are crappy unless you can persuade somebody to sell their antique.

Hrm, didn't know about the auto shutoff in the TSA. I play mostly scenarios, so that would be bad for me. I kinda wish these guys would just put in a freakin' switch.

Well it's only if you dont shoot for 30 minutes. If you dont want to shoot, you can open and close the lid and that will agitate them. I used my tsa in D-Day, a 24 hour game. I didnt have a single problem with it shutting off when I didn't want it to.

Grab an Empire Reloader (Not B) Runs off 2 batt's but is light, has auto-shut-off, push-button on/off, Same thing as a revy, but Sound Activated.

My favorite hopper, then I was stupid and gave it away (Because I thought I was done with paintball) Or you could just use the Sydarm dummy!

Ill sell u my TSA for $40 plus s/h it has a sanded neck its a little loose in the ULE body but that can be fixed with some tape or an adjustable feedneck. Dyed it blue with rit dye turned out nice. I have shot x board revies and this tsa and to tell u the truth the tsa and revi feed at about the same rate IMO. But I do feel the tsa has a slimer profile and def better lids than a revi...unless you can get hold of a pre BE shell and lid on a revi. anyway.....LMK if u wanna buy my tsa.
3.2 e mag ULE body and rail. Oh yeah I gots the X inside!!!

I agree. Best Loader out there in my opinion-but only because I dont shoot fast enough to need an Egg or a HALO B, but they are a tad difficult to find.

I have the TSA Backman LED. I got it because its made of thicker/stronger plastic than the revvy. So far its worked good for me, and the shells held up great(until a guy at the shop dropped it was on my gun and even then it just cracked but was still in one piece.) Oh, I had a problem with the little battery tongs breaking off but I think the batteries I used were unusually big.
