I think i have seen this before but im not sure. Has anyone seen/done a barrel with a SP back and Dye front or vise versa? I mean is it possible for me to have like a freak but with a ultraligh/boomstick front?

yes,its possible,WhiteWolfAirsmithing use to sell kits like this without freak inserts..that is until dye ripped him a new one about using there tips

Yeah it could be done, but it would require some rethreading and mabey even a little milling.

Just to clarify........
WhiteWolf used to 'Make' tips that looked liked Dye tips for Freak backs.He milled them from scratch,not rethreaded them.
He also makes backs that accept freak inserts and he now makes tip for those back as well as complete barrels that take freak inserts and soon to be if not yet,backs that can accept inserts of other manufactures as well.
