Some times being riped of has a silver lining.

Some punk riped off some cash that I had in my van.
I had it saved for if I found some old markers at yard sales.
While at the field last week I told a fellow about what happened.
He mentioned he had an old Brass Eagle Marker.
It turned out it was the first semi they produced the "EAGLE".
I got it for real cheap.

Just curious.....is there somethign special about an old Brass Eagle?

I know all their new stuff is trash , and I have never known them to produce (much) anything good , so why own one old or not?

Sentimental or collectible value. The first paintball gun I ever owned was a Brass Eagle Nightmare Longbarrel pump. The thing looked like a shotgun and sounded the part too. I ordered it through NPS in '89 and held onto it for about two years until I sold it to afford a PMI-3.

I loved that Nightmare, and wish I could figure out who has it so I could buy it back. The thing weighed about ten pounds and shot around 350fps out of the box - and there wasn't a reliable way to change it either - but it was blast to play with.

Darn, I miss the days when the only way to adjust velocity was to cut a spring or add some washers, and the only way to verify the velocity was to measure how much bark you could strip off a tree from twenty feet. :)

not to mention that Brass Eagle was a very highly respected company until bought by daisy... believe it or not, they used to manufacture tournament-grade equipment.

                            It's in poor condition.
But I can see the potential under all the grime.
I've got a project in mind.

Dude you have a gun that collectors would go nuts for. I think some feilds have "museims setup in their shops to show the progression of paintball guns and the technology behind them. Plus you have a gun that is almost twenty years old.
