I did a search but just got more confused and I came up with the emag valve is the same as the RT and X except for a.) looks and b.) weight. Can someone confirm this for me?

an emag valve is the same thing as an RT valve...when its not straped up to all the emag goodies....

The emag valve is a half alum half SS RT pro valve with "emag" on the side of it, unlike the x or RTX valves, which are all alum. Also emag valves have a different on/off assy. and on/off pin length, so you would want a Retro on/off if you are not running it on an emag.
