Yes, alot of new players will claim or aspire to be a sniper...but I have played with and against people who do play using stealth and other 'sniping' tactics. Some of them do indeed know what they're doing, and I have fallen victim to the elusive paintball sniper on many occasions.

'Course, they fall victim to me from time to time as well...

that most people would take it as some kind
of sexual suggestion rather than an attempt
    to infer one's final destination."

unless you're playing in the right woods settings, its not really any advantage or that fun to be a sniper.

i feel that you have never played woodsball with serious woods players last time i played i went with abunch of friends who had been and still are in the armed forces and yes they can snipe you from a good distance and the guy didnt have a flatline he had a tippmann prolite and it was a very well peforming gun. even when he was on my team i didnt know where he was even when he and i would communicate. so yes there are snipers in paintball.

try using the search function people. I know we've seen this discussion before and sometimes it gets pretty heated too.

"Snipers" in paintball, to me , refers to a style of play, not the replication of the actual military role/ abilities of a real sniper (because paintball tech kinda nullifies the chances of "kills" at 800yds).

that doesnt mean that a person cant choose to emmulate a sniper by either looking the part, using stealth, and choosing acruracy over volume when shooting. They're playing style is then that of a "sniper", even if technilogy prevents them from getting sniper-esque kills from hundreds of yards out. So basically they are "snipers"

True, many newbs choose to initially go the "sniper" rout, but that is because newbs are always scared, lack agression, lack experience, and generally think the idea of playing a sniper is cool just so they make it out of the game alive. Newbs are terrified of getting shot, let alone bunkered, so its obvious why being a "sniper" in woodsball might seem like a safe bet at first. Being a sniper is not just sitting imobile in one spot with your knees shaking waiting for someone to carelessely walk by, and they usually learn this the hard way and wisen up later.

I've only played against a handfull of what I would call true "paintball snipers" and they were devilish, sneaky men who did'nt have to make a shot from a mile away because they could sneak to within ten feet of you.

I read somewhere sniper means, attacking your enemy while they are unaware that they are even under attack.

Oh anyway not one person thats been playing paintball calls them self a sniper anymore. Its a really dumb concept because when you shoot a paintball from far away they deflect off almost anything. I remember actually catching a paintball and putting it in my hopper.

Ok I was listening to these people talk about how they are "snipers"
I was thinking what total stupid newbs their arent snipers in paintball because you dont have a longer range than anyone else on the field.

                Do you agree with me?
wow! wait till the folks on PBN hear about this topic!
remeber everything is all in context and reference.
