    Newb Fire

Ok Im getting mad at the refs at my field. Their are newbs playing and they are just sticking their gun out and shooting without looking. Were begining to call it "Newb Fire"

Is this legal? The refs were saying that it is

Typically it's called "Blind Fire", and I've never seen a field that allowed it, because there is a chance someone's ear/eye/groin/etc.. will be inches from the barrel when you stick it out to fire.

However, if they aren't looking, then they can't see you move up on them, can they?

yeah most fields dont aloow blind fire if they see it but thers not muchy u can do if they dont it happens but ive seen paint fly into the staging area because of blind fire and thats pretty danmgerous considering if somone would ahve been sitting ther at the time i can almost guarntee theyd of been shot in the face or upper body without protection and as a ref i consider it unacceptable and usualy warn all groups before to not do that ex younger kids

Shoot their guns. If their not looking, their chances of hitting you is close to zero.

i actually just had a problem with this, they knew where me and another guy were, so he just set his gun on the table and pulled the trigger w/o looking out to see. it kinda sucked cuz my friend was yelling something to the ref and he didnt even know cuz he wasnt looking.

As a ref at my field, I typically yell at them to make sure they can see their balls shooting out and not just stick their gun out, after the 3rd time they do it.. I make them sit a game. That has always stopped it for me.

edit: this is usualyl done with rentals with my method since they are normally young and too afraid to do it again after the first warning. with walk ons or experienced players.. i just pull them right away.

              Blind Firing.

It can be dangerous and costly to insurance companies and fields. I cant believe your local field it allowing blind firing, its a huge liability issue for most fields

Im surprised your field condones that kinda stuff, the field i ref at, i just pull the person out as soon as i witness them blind firing, no reason to mess around, with warnings, them sitting the rest of the game is enough warning and it sinks into their heads nice and quick that way.
