Intellifieing (sp?)

Ok, so today I went to the Shack and bought some of the parts that I needed to Intellifi my Revvy and mag. They didn't have the exact same earphone ext. wire so I picked up another brand of it, thinking that earphone wire is earphone wire, right?

Wrong. This has 3 types of wire inside of the 1. I dont know which ones to use, does it make a difference?

as long as you use the same wire on both ends of the conection, it will work

Would connection 1 go to the red wire or the the voltage regulator, do you know?

All you need it two wires to make a circuit, if the cable has three individually insulated wires bonded together like so... ||| then you can peal off one of them and use the other two, just make sure you connect wire 1 to the places wire 1 goes and wire 2 to the places wire 2 goes, color does not matter. you have a simple circuit.
