what was the outcome on all this? what was the "winning" design? Is it in any sort of CAD form? Is there a machinist lined up to mill them?

ClassicMagger (or whoever is in charge!) please email me the info..
I do happen to have a 4th axis cnc mill, a polisher, an anodizer, and I buy slug bodies all day long.

    out!

Meaning within your time frame that you expect things to be done in and that they are not backed up on other projects so they can have mine done as soon as possible.

          3. Affordable. I can find the top two easily, except for the price. The machinist must be able to do a small run of no more than 25-50, accept my CAD work without having to modify it (which will cost extra by the way) for under 250 USD per unit including the cost of the Sluggo Body, AGD Rail, Steel Ring, C-Clip, Feedneck, and machining of both the rail and body.

          4. Cheap enough that I can do a run of these and offer them to AO at a reasonable price.

          5. Time. Pay me to do the bodies in this time frame and get them done, outside of my regular job, family life, and putting food on the table for my family.

          6. Prototypes make sure the bodies come out as planned so I am not screwed out of several thousand dollars.

          7. Find a polisher and anodizer for this project as well. Who meets the above qualifications.

          8. I know that I am leaving things out, so just all of the other misc. small things that are needed to be done with a project like this, you need to find and get all of those things done for me.
Didn't you think of ANY of this before starting this contest? I mean, this was all your idea and just because someone asked for an update after THREE months without a post from you in this thread, you're getting all defensive? That doesn't make much sense.

Besides, to do this right, NONE of those things are needed yet. For now, what you need to do is take your top five designs and get them into CAD format. I've seen quite a few people in this thread that have shown 3D models of their designs, so enlist their help to get good solid CAD models of each design. So far, that costs only voluntary time. Also, have a CAD model of the rest of the gun ready (AGD probably already has this). Once that's done, you can model the bodies on the gun from any/all angles, take as many pics as you want, see it in any color, etc. This would be good enough to pick a single winner. THEN you can make up a prototype to see it in real life. The prototype will cost you some money, but you DID start this thread, so I'm assuming you knew that was coming. Once you're ready to roll, nicad has already mentioned havnig a mill, as I'm sure others on this forum do as well.

You're right. At some point, this IS going to cost you time and money, but nobody twisted your arm here. This was all your idea. That's true with any business, but once you get over that initial investment, you start recouping your losses through sales. And quite frankly, you haven't even gotten to that point yet, as far as I'm concerned.

          Let's see some winning designs!

Kevin I've got a concept going that should blow most of these away. Before I progress I need to know if you want a matching rail for the body, or a unibody/rail design like the X-mag almost.

                            Unified body?

I have enjoyed looking at everyones designs, I wish I was that creative. But, I have a question, everyone has submitted desgins that would require the use of a rail. Has anyone given any thoutht to the notion of a unified body/rail design?

Yes, just link the MicroMags. This would give a larger piece to create from.

                            Just a thought. Thanks.

i dont see why its not worth bringing back to discusse. it has many great ideas and designs.and plus from following along with it myself, it never really died....just put on hold.

Badger--- one of the rules was to use a SLUGGO body as the base of the body. that way it could easily be produced from off the shelf parts.
