Looking for a New Automag Body Design... Winner Will Recieve their Own Custom Body

tony3- No, you are correct it takes no time to just announce a winner, EXCEPT when your judges cannot decide on a for sure winner and instead give you a choice of five.

That is correct it is down to five as of right now.

Why I am not going to tell anyone the five is for a few SIMPLE reasons:

1. The main machine shop I was using has run into some trouble and will not be able to pick up this project at this time. Leading me to look for other sources or wait for them to get their act together.

2. The top five are not all CAD ready or able to be machined in their current state. They all need a few modifications and changes done so that they can be milled. This I have to do on my own. Which is not the easiest task, for me.

3. The top five are all FANTASTIC designs and I have to narrow them down by myself, which I cannot do until I know for sure which ones can be properly machined to look like the sketch. I do not particular want a "custom automag body" to look like crap.

Those are the main issues at hand.

I do apologize for not letting AO know sooner, things just kind of ran together and getting everything ready does take time. So please everyone bare with me, I will try and answer every and all questions I can in a timely manor, for the next week or two, lets keep this on the 1st page of AO Paintball Talk, to remind me.

White Wolf- If my post came across as rude I do apologize I was just expressing the fact that things take time and I figured you'd understand with your own quote. I'll hit you back up with an e-mail today, it was just about an under cocking phantom kit, wondering if you could make one or could point me in the direction of a nice one.

CM: trust me it was not your posting I had any issues with, especialy in your own thread.

Main reason I posted to bring the thread up was that I prety much knew what the problems were having dealt with the lack of control over outside vendors many time and will many times in the future. Everyone that does any custom work realizes this but alot of the "general public" dosent so its a good thing that they can see the inside reasons things get delayed, changed or some time never released to the public.

I have been trying to get my Aluminum SC feeds and pumps for Phantoms made for over a year, but when the machinest that has all the CAD files gets prostate cancer there is not much I cna do but hope he makes a full recovery and do what I cna to help his business survive while he's out of commision. Luckily he made a full recovery and the feeds are supposed to be off the machines on Wendsday......9 months late.

BTW got that mail and sent a reply that day must have got lost some where on the "internets"

I was wondering... let's say that you manage to CAD all the sketchs and then make them...

Will we then have to chose a winner between the 5 bodies or will your "Judges" do that for us???

There are some sick designs in here. You should set up a poll for the designs. Maybe it will help you make your decision. So far My vote goes to joey d, but that was a tough choice. Good job everyone.

aLLerGy- as of right now, I am not for certain how I will narrow down the five, it may be me personally, the judges, or the public of AO, as of right now I am primarily trying to get drawings etc. straightened out and made possible.

On the fact of purchasing, as of right now, I am very unsure on what will happen about purchasing a body etc. I MAY make these open to the public. (Lets first just worry about getting sketches done.) This all depends on how cheap I can get them done and if AO would really like whichever design does win. We will see.

I would love to do every design and open up their sales to AO, and I will see what I can do. Do not count on all designs being made and sold, but none the less do not rule it out.

PAINTBALLNEWBIE- I do not plan on designing a whole new gun, no. Lets just worry about sketches for a body first.

Chris Nearchos- I need to finish getting some sketches CAD able and Sluggo compatible. Then someone has to narrow them down etc. Sorry, but I do not know how long it will take all together, but it is being worked on.

uhm i think hes picked a body/bodies and is getting them annod customly...from what i understand is theyr all for viewing purposes only to us so chillout guys.....

if theyr for sale theyl likely be $ and in special taste as well as limited.

if i had to gues i would say another 2 months or les til we know wassup depending on anno
