No there is no special things to do for you.

All that I suggest is to use a known courier like UPS or Purolator then the package will be traceable.

All the hastel is on the Canadian side, with duty and customs brokerage fees the price of an item can get silly.

If you are sending it to a border city see if you recipient knows someone on the US side. That way you can send it and have them go pick it up and not waste alot of extra cash feeding the goverment.

Hope that helps. Coming from somone that has already been screwed by our great tax system.

You can also list the item as a gift if you're shipping via USPS (not sure if you can do this with UPS), which will cut down or eliminate the customs fee.

You have to ship it US Air Parcel Post. You cannot use a courier unless you want a PO'd buyer. The couriers charge a $25 broker fee for any parcel. The buyer will pay tax on the value of the item. Check with him to see what he wants you to list as the price. If you list less than $40, they often do not use tax. Alternately, if you are a nice guy, you can mark it as a gift but the value still should be listed as less than $40. I have never had a problem with shipping or receiving in Canada but the buyer needs to be aware that it will be tough to make an insurance claim on anything higher than what you list as a value.

Do not use UPS! The buyer will get nailed with up to 40% of the value in UPS' ridiculous brokerage fees. Just ship USPS, under value it, declare it as a gift and it'll be fine. I've bought lots of stuff from people in the US (including an HPA tank), had it done this way and never had a problem.

          Just remember, UPS is evil.

I recommend shipping USPS Insured... USPS usually gets the job done, if you list the item as a gift or commercial sample you can same them some import taxes as well.

I sold something online to canada, USPS took 5 days from Cal to Manitoba or someplace like that, we listed it as a gift and it was fine.

When shipping UPS you have to include a customs form unless it is documents only, any item with value, even a gift, has to be "declared". As far as the price, just keep it low! When you fill out the customs form say, "Gift for family member, no declaration". And for the price put down $20, also try not to say it is a compressed air tank, that will send out a warning signal, say something like "paintball gear". I must send out 10 UPS Canada Standards a week and have had no claims or problems. Also to keep in note, Any air tanks cannot be shipped AIR when sending UPS, if your lucky mabye you have in the past, but I know our store and many others in the area are very serious about sending air. Hope this helps man, good luck

PS - You MUST have the phone number for the person getting the package in Canada.

I sent Oysterboy an automag body nearly 3 months ago via USPS Express mail and it still hasn't arrived. I had them track the package and they got back to me with "it's in canadian customs". (like, no crap... mind telling me why?)

I sent him another body via UPS ground and it got there in 2 weeks.
