    i trust you guys.

i trust you guys the most of any paintballers and with this decision. I'm sure you guys have heard of the new PBX cocker, if you haven't check it out here.

this is basically the fastest, most efficient, and has the least kick of any marker ever and has no bounce. i've been looking at buying it since day one, the prices were just released at $1400 that includes a 14" powerlyte sceptre system. the only problem is that it doesn't come out till the world cup, i don't know whether to to wait to buy it or right now to buy a high end timmy. what would you guys do? anything helps.

My first question would be, "Why do you need one?" Is this a case of instant gratification or do you need one for a tourney or something?

My second question would be, "What are you shooting now and is it going to be replaced?"

My third question would be, "Why are my pants on inside out?"

I suppose it all comes down to my own myopic view . I should have asked, "Why do you need a $1400 gun?"

If a gun less than $1400 will do, yes. However, If he has the money to burn more power to him. I'm a tightwad, what can I say. Like I said, maybe it is my own myopic view but I don't see any reason to spend more money on anything than is necessary. If it makes his heart flutter to buy this gun, Great! My question is does he "need" this gun. If he is going to play rec once every other month or so than I would say that he doesn't need the gun. If he is going to be playing some serious tourneys and needs that kind of hardware then go for it.

                    Can I differ to option 3? viking....mmmm

                    aka

Like he said, what do YOU want? Wether you buy a timmy or the pbx (or viking ) you are going to spend 1400... Obviously, it is worth it to you. So, can you live without a "super electro paint hose" untill the cup? I sure as hell wouldn't be able to.... What do you want?

Try one before you buy it.

You could always pick up a used timmy and sell it at WC if you need a gun now.

I just read the first page of the PNB thread. Excuse me if this is stated later on...

It is said to be the fastest? At 30 bps? Someone mentioned it was faster then any aka product.... Did they retest it to be over the 34bps z man clocked the viking at? Or that person who posted about that just a moron?

Most efficeint? Did they test this?

Where are some working pics of this gun? These are the same people who made the mQ "mag"?

                        Hmmm.

                            To answer questions:

I'm not sure if it's as fast as a viking, but they HAVE tested it as fast as those insanely fast videos with paint in the vikings... they've only been loader-limited so far.

As far as efficiency, it's equal to a well-tuned cocker, so probably in the 1600-1800 shot range for a 68/4500 fill, which is about that of a Viking.

It will likely have less kick than a viking, and depending on the model, will be smaller and lighter. It also can use timmy triggers, which many people see as an advantage.

As far as reliability goes, I have a hard time seeing anything being more reliable than a viking in the upper-end market, but they've completely eliminated all problems commonly seen in cockers. There's nothing to time on it, there's no sear-lug interface, and the cocking rod does not affect whether you chop, burp or misfeed... I really don't see what could fail on this gun, and it's EASIER to work on than a viking, since you don't need to be a tech to open it up and adjust it.

Is it superior to a viking? I won't say that. They're different. It's a personal choice, but it looks like PBX is putting out a winner.

Wow, I have been reading some stuff on it. I am impressed.

It runs right there with a viking. Everything is +/- 1 in comparison.

Just as fast (well bps ...)
                              Almost as efficient
Less kick.... couldn't be by much
Timmy triggers are sweet. Nice idea

They did, however, state it will need to be fine tuned. Although easier to work on, how many people are going to screw stuff up thinking they are qualified? People don't generaly pay for an expensive tool kit to open up vikings. Thats a good thing IMO...

I would say the PBX over a stock viking in the looks department. PBX is hardly stock though, and carrys a price tag around a custom vik. DC wins hands down in looks.

PBX is pretty awesome, what I can see of it atleast. I would say buy something easy to resell and get the PBX when it comes out.
