    2k1 Cocker.

Im thinking of getting this. I dont want to spend alot of money on it, but i do want some upgrades. I heard it needs a barrel and i already have a good one for it. So besides that what needs to be replaced? Keep in mind i dont want problems with it and want to keep it simple.

Is it just better to stay stock? I do have an excellent cocker specialist a few blocks away.

Good to see another Cocker enthusiast here on AO - .

Here is what you can throw on there, to make your life simple -

    - Palmers Rock regulator.
    - New Inline regulator
    - Change out the Grip frame

And that should be good for awhile -

      Ive always liked cockers,

The palmers reg, anything else that i need to put this on? Whats the benefit? Do i have to adjust anything

New inline reg- Do i need a new vertical adapter? What reg should i get to go with my preset tank(450psi)?

New trigger frame- Hinge Trigger sound good?

I read that a new bolt is almost impossible to put on this cocker unless you get a new back block- back block meaning the plate?(confused)

Get a vertfeed cocker, and a hinge (or swing) trigger, and any other "basic" upgrades. Then your set.

The only upgrade you really need is a better barrel. Dont waste your time and money on any of the other "crap" these guys are telling you. I am not knocking them, but they are only giving suggestions...I have owned a few cockers and have fallen victim to all the "Upgrade Gremlins" on the market. If you want a reliable cocker, don't screw with it. If you want it to be tempermental as a woman, by all means "upgrade" it.
The only upgrades I highly recommend is a 12volt revvy, and a nice dropforward.

I shoot a 2K1 STO all pimped out and I still regret doing it. My cocker currently has a Chrome Palmer Rock, ANS Miniram, Angry 3 way, STO Hinge Trigger, an Eclipse Hinge waiting to be installed,an ANS quickfire frame when I get sick of both hinges, an LP valve, LP hammer, Spring kit, Knurled Cocking rod, KAPP Hi Flow gas bolt, and a 15 deg ASA w/black magic reg. The list still isn't done.

Be smart, don't screw with it if you don't have to. It's not a Mag, It won't like being disassembled for a looksie.

covad do you know why your having problems? it is because parts from one company are manufactured to meet the tolerences of that company's parts. I have noticed if your gonna play with your front, it s beter to just get a whole new frontblock. Unless you can find parts that are good all around (bomb and rock reg are the olny ones i have found tha you can realy interchange) you might as well stick with one company. I noticed that you have a rock reg with an ans ram, might wanna change that. Also, if the angry 3 way is givin you trouble, you may wanna get a bomb or a palmer quick switch. you just gotta make the right choice in the front.

Here if i was going to start with a 2k1 Vertical Feed stock cocker I would get personally.

                  Stainless Steel Lapco Bigshot barrel.
Chrome Dye Hinge Frame (my preference i like there feel)
A nice adjustable pnumatic reg preferably a chrome Rock Reg with Rock Knob. And my preference as a Secondary reg would be the WDP one but thats just me. And as for a bolt the best bolts are the Superfly and i also like the MacDev YinG YanG also. Plus a nice drop and nitro ...no need for an adjustable. A revvy is a must too. But also after you get your upgrades installed its better to do it all at once...and get it timmed right too. Cause if i had everything up there on a cocker...after the stuff was installed i wouldnt screw with it cause thats how cockers are.

If you insist on buying anything but vert feed, don't invest any money in the marker. The market is for vert feed Cockers, anything but Vert has HORRIBLE resale value.

                      Magman,
I have done all of the "same company, same product" swaps...like I said, I have had a few cockers. My deal is my cocker runs like a champ, can outshoot most electros, and is light weight...but it took me four tries and several grand to get there. Why waste time swapping for looks when the performance difference is neglible...most of these available mods don't live up to their billing unless it's a complete rebuild. That's all.

I recently purchased a 2k2 vert feed cocker. I am going to keep it stock until something breaks. I think it works fine.

Get a good barrel and play!

the 2k2 Cockers come with .45 frames and in differnet colors. The only thing you reall need is a barrel. Other than that, the stock pnumatics and reg and internals are fine. But if you really wanna be like the big boys, there are a wide variety of upgrades for your Ccoker for you to choose from.

Do notr i repeat fdo not get the angel or wdp reg, it blows. It has one of the slowest recharge rates around. Do not get a wdp inline reg

I would upgrade in this order:a Mac Dev Gladiator/GenX regulator, a Mac Dev sonic LPR or a Micro Rock for your front end, followed by the Red Valve or Shocktech 3:16 valve, a shocktech bomb or bellsales 3-way, a clippard/STO RAM, a nelson spring kit, a Mac Dev Hammer kit, an LP resevior, and either a Dye or WGP hinge would top it off nicely... with all of the above properly tuned on any cocker, you should be running a pretty low pressure with a sickening trigger pull...
