    chopping balls

hey i just put a new check it feedneck on my e-mag because i didnt feel like sanding down my halo cause shells are like 30 - 40 bucks , and it was chopping/blowing up the balls in the barrel i turned my velocity down and it seemed to get better from 290 to 250 and it still shot the same just without the ball breakage, anyone know if theres any other problems or should i just turn it down a tad more? and will a karta body fit on my e-mag? just wondering

Is the gun chopping the balls or are the balls breaking down the barrel?
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

You shouldn't be chopping or "blowing up" balls down the barrel if you are shooting 300fps and under.

I'd say you're either using crappy paint, paint that's WAY too big for your barrel, or you don't have L10. If you don't have L10 that's the first thing you want to get.

Don't be afraid to sand your halo. Almost everyone has to do it. THey make the neck pretty big knowing that it will be sanded to fit.

I used the sanding wheel on my dremel. Then finished with some med. paper I had laying around. Remember that it the neck is a little rough that gives it a bit more friction. A little harder to get in but you don't have to wory about it falling out.

ohh good idea. i didnt even think about the sanding wheel on my dremel. I'd just be worried about taking too much off with that. I may not even need to sand it with my micro-e mag.. the feedneck bell is kinda big anyways.

Make sure its a tight fit though, I borrowed someones sanded Halo for my RT ULE the other weekend for a tourny and it seemed very tight. Well, as it would happen, the Halo fell off when I was the only one left and the other team was eliminated, got the flag, made sure the field was clear, and then hung the flag. Well, I had no idea that you were eliminated if you go over 3 feet from your hopper (which was something recently edited in this tourny's rules) and so I only got points for the pull. Kinda sucks and I wouldnt want it to happen to anyone who sands theirs Halo a little too much. So be careful!

I used 90 grit, used my dremel wheel. Let me tell you, with my other halo, it took me 40 min to sand it to fit my timmy. This time, I used the dremel, took me 5 min, dont be worried about taking to much off, just put the speed on 3. Every so often, stop and check and see if it fits the feedneck.
