I'm prbly gonna get dogged for this but i'm starting to notice how half the threads i read on this forum always have someone yelling "insert random remark about searching here." I can understand seein this every once in a while, but damn people they're not always the dumbest questions in the world these people are asking. Try taking a look at the first 2 pages of new entries on the talk part of this forum and count how many of them have the angry yelling in them.

in this case i see 3 solutions. answer the question, because you already have the knowlege, give the person a link to the thread where they can find the answer, because you know where they can find the answer, or DONT ANSWER, because you are a curtious AO member.

This forum is more lenient than most, if you ask a topic that has been discussed at great length on other forums you will get the "try a search before asking this question again" remark from the moderators, and then they will lock the thread.
the reason why they do this is because it cuts down on clutter, if the same thread appears over and over it gets frustrating for people who are trying to find information.

its kinda pointless to have 10 new threads daily about people ith lvlx problems when they havent bothered to even look at the directions, or the stickied thread about it. this gets frustrating when i know for a fact that like 2 threads down from each of these threads is another thread about the same thing.

AO is one of the friendlier forums around. Compared to many others, this is the shool playground.

You need thicker skin. When people do comment that a search should have been used, usually the tone is nice enough. It is irritating to have the same questions come up.

On top of that, by searching, users can find well thought out threads with complete details, versus the opinions and crappy info that come up when one of the aforementioned topics come up. You see, its quite likely that someone already answered "question x" with a well thought out answer some time ago. They are not going to do this every time "x" comes up.

Quit whining, and speak english.
