man, just admit that youre wrong this time. i wholeheartedly agree with everything that ilikePB has said, its all 100% true. no one in this thread will miss your biased anti SP BS. hes asking what gun he should tell his buddy to get, regardless of brand and it sounds to me that youre just trying to rip on SP.

There is an aftermarket shocker (was it the Dark Shocker??) that comes with cocker barrel threading.

Just to but in here: are any of you guys really reading adt501's post?

          Riddle me this:
As paintballers are we expected to have to work on NEW guns right out of the manfuacters SEALED BOX? I just read 1/2 a dozen posts from you guys making excuses for SP and laying the blame on the user. Placing blame on anyone else is idotic at best. Sorry but that is just plain wrong! wether I spend 100 or 1k dollars on a product I expect it to work, out of the box, from day 1 period!

p.s. SP isnt the only one that does it, I have had screwed up guns from just about every manufacturer except AGD. The difference is you either build it right the first time or try your hardest to get a working product into the hands of the user through top notch customer support.

Im not making excuses - and for the record AGD products are not immune to this, I mean you and I both know in a case or less your going to most likely be cahnging the size of a carrier.

SP quality control sucks - I said it early in this argument and I will restate it. In my experience 2/3rds of the Shockers I have taken out of the box have had flaws in them within the first two cases that required repairs - one had nto even been aired up. An SP tech had the audacity to tell me that it was air on one marker that caused my problems when air had never touched it. And BTW, this was a marker that came straight from SP not any middle men.

You should be able to expect to take your marker out of the box, adjust velocity, and play - at least for a couple cases before maintenance sets in. I am giving fair warning not to expect this with an SP marker.

That being said, once working properly you are going to be hard pressed to find something better than a Shocker... I'm sure there are a lot of opinions out there that do not agree with mine, but I think so to the extent of having two identical shockers.

did SP fix the FSDO on the new shockers? Everyone I know with one complains of FSDO.

as an aside, I want a ygrip hAir trigger SOO bad. I'm tired of dealing with 8bps just so I can play with the marker I'm comfortable with.

When I get first shot drop off I lube the bolt and it goes away for about 3 cases. Though I did have some that was not bolt stick on one of my shockers - it happened only after sitting more than 10 minutes, I never got rid of this, it was an earlier one than the ones I have now

Agreed on both points. Shockers maybe great guns, I had a shoe box I loved, but until they address the QC and CS issue I will never own one.
