    Rehydro CO2 Tanks?

Do CO2 tanks have to be hydro tested now? If so, about how much does it cost and where did you get it done?

yes unless its a stubby then no but you have to get it retested every 5 years. it cost a whoppin' 25 dollars so you could basicaly just buy a new tank.

Yes you need to hydro a co2 tank if it's greater than 2" diameter. A lot of times it's cheaper just to buy a new one. Remember CO2 tanks have a life span of 15 years. You are not suppose to use it after that time frame.

OK, so if it is cheaper to buy a new CO2 tank than to hydro, what do we do w/ our old tanks? I'm sure the trash man would not appreciate finding one in the can by the road. Is recycling an option? What if nobody nearby will recycle them? Thoughts?

BUY A NEW ONE. BUT DONT BE TEMPTED TO USE YOUR OLD ONE WITH OUT IT BEING TESTED. REMEMBER YOUR ARE HOLDING ON TO A BOMB THAT CAN EXPLODE WITH 1800 psi of force not only hurting or killing you but those around you. This is NO JOKE. i have my hpa tested my local fire extinguisher retailers for $20. Remember kiddies these aint no toys we are using. end of rant.

Most paintball dealers will recycle your old tanks for you. CO2 bottles are so cheap now that its easier to get a new tank than re-hydro your old one. Talk to your store & see what they can do with them.

                Aluminum co2 tanks have a 5 year
Aluminum co2 tanks under 2 inch in diameter never need to be hydroed
Chrome Molly co2 tanks never need to be hydroed

What we do when it comes to recycleing out of date tanks.. we send it out to our hydro guys ( local people we drop our stuff off ) , The remove the valve drill two holes in the bottle and send it back.. Then we just dumpsterize it.
