    stay mech or go electric

Alright, like the title says, should i stay mech or should i get an electric gun. Right now I've got a rt pro, but im seriously considering getting an x-mag. Then i started thinking, why would i ever need to shoot that fast? I'd waste balls and air like crazy. Then it came through my head, if i had an x-mag though, the trigger pull would be conciterably lighter, and it would probebly have better perfomance. And since it is a mag it would be very reliable and wouldn't just shut down on me on the field. Then i remeberd something that one of my friends told me. He said why would you want to just hose down people with paintballs when you can actually run to the bunkers and not waste balls. You just get better with a mech and all in all be a better player. And with a mec you wouldnt have as many problems because there are no electronics. Then when i thought about it though, just because i got an electronic gun doesnt mean ill change my hole syle of play. I mean ill still be that front man, I'll just be able to shoot faster with less flaw. So now im really confused on what i should get, x-mag, or stay with the rt pro? So what do yall think? Thanks again.

it all depends on your style of play. if you the guy that shoots fast and pins people down, then go with the xmag. if ur the guy who can shoot reasonably fast at times needed, but prefers to take accurate, calculated shots, then stay mech. i dont think one has an advantage over the other. mechs are much more reliable... plus i dont like the emag/xmags battery pack... but thats just me.

    or!

wait for the hAir trigger to come out and have the best of both worlds.
Yummy yummy yummy, I've got fun in my tummy.

It's really your preference. I switched from an emag to an RT. The added complications of electronics really were not worth the few extra bps that I can get with the emag (or atleast at that time.. I could only get 14 bps with my micro.. but it was the old software capped at 16). That and the RT is lighter, ect ect.. But its your preference.

On the other hand if you do get an X-mag and don't like it, then keep in on mech mode, put a ULT on/off in it and take off the battery pack (less weight). That way you have a cool gun, with interchangable breeches, and the option to do either of the two. Just make sure you take the ULT kit out (if you ever put one in) before going E-mode. Plus an X-mag is fairly light all things considering.

another option would be to get ULT, that would lighten your trigger. or just wait for the hair trigger to come out

you thought up some good points, but i'd say mech. if you're mechanically inclined its easier to fix and such if anything goes wrong. if not, then electros might fit you better because they are somewhat simpler to fix, and find out if anything's wrong.

all down to preference, but as i said in another thread, easy electro, fit the grip with an on/off switch, battery, and solenoid. make your own trigger so it doesnt hit the sear, and voila, you're done. pull trigger, completes circuit, pushes solenoid. marker does not reset because there is constant pressure form solenoid until you relese trigger.

my above point? electros are way overpriced. just 3 wires, a battery, switch, and solenoid can complete the exact same function for a couple of cents. why go out and get a $400 E-blade2 for your cocker when you can just hit radioshack and get an "uncapped" electro? (dont argue against angels, you can do the same thing to their 4way, or any other electro for that matter). simple and plain, KEEP IT SIMPLE. more complex, more things that can go wrong.

i think since i have gone electro, i have become less skilled as a "gunfighter"....becasue i dont have to be, but i feel i am a better player all around and bigger asset to my team

If money isn't a big factor, keep your rt and get an xmag or other electro of your choice. I have a whole bunch of mechs and electros and it is fun to switch up every now and then. :)

Is paintball a passing fad for you, or will you be playing at least another 2 years?

                    Fad: stay mech
                    Long term: electro

Paintball is deffinatly not a passing fad for me. I know for sure ill be playing for another 2 years and many more to come. So im really thinkin i might jut get the the x-mag, but there is juist something inside me telling me to stay mech. And money is a major isue too. I dont have much of it, lol, but i can get it if i want something.

That is because Duzzy knows best, and his advice was pretty darn good. Plus an X-mag is a collectors item and will probably have good resale value for some time.
