Warning - Shocker sounds like leaking

Ok... the other day one of my teammates who has one of my Shockers calls me and tells me its leaking - no big deal theres a seal kit (full) in the case with the marker, so he rebuilds it. He says its still leaking, ok I'll look at it this weekend (Saturday),

I get there yesterday, hold the feedtube up to me ear and its leaking, slight leak but heh these things should be right. I take the marker apart several times looking and greasing o-rings and stuff. Still leaks, so I take it apart as far as the solenoids with no problems found.

After about an hour and a half of messing with the SOB I happen to hold it up to my ear and still hear the noise. This is disturbing considering the tank is layin on the counter and the air valve is open.. hence no air in marker.

Well.. the marker has a CCM no-pro feedneck on it (if it makes a difference) and there is a disturbing auditory thing happening, kinda like a seashell I guess... and it sounds like a leak. Only took us tearing the marker apart about 10 times to figure this out

Testing for leaks with your ear is a good way to go deaf.

I once heard a actual leak, shot, then went deaf in my left ear for a little while.

I could understand about the seashell effect though, wouldnt surpise me.

        SP with their tricks!!!

If your looking for an air leak, submerge your marker in some soapy water and look for air bubbles.

Lol, don't feel too bad about this, I have run into many people including myself who have mistaken the seashell sound in their shocker to be a leak. I guess the way the shocker is cut just makes it do this.....

I have noticed the seashell effect in every marker I have owned to some point or another.

To check for a leak I gas up the marker. Fire a few shots and then turn off the tank. Sit the marker down for a few minutes and then come back and fire it. If it still shoots you can bet that even if it is leaking , its not enough to worry about.

Then you'll only need to replace the electronics.
