i just got a micro mag kit and was trying different valves in the gun. i have a retro and a classic. the classic valve has an rt on/off in it. other than that, it's just a regular valve. when i switched them out, i noticed that i really wasn't firing any faster with the retro than i was with the classic. i didn't hear any drop off with the classic valve either. is this something that i imagined in my head or what? i just thought that it was really strange that i could shoot just as fast a retro with a classic valve. maybe it was my "trigger job" frame that i put on it. hahahahha.

I find the big difference is feel. I can hit 6-8 bps on a good string on my classic, and 10-11 on my retro, now I wouldn't even see shootdown from a classic valve at the rate I can shoot the retro, but the improved trigger feel helps me shoot fast. For comparison, I'm around 7-8 bps on a 99 STO, and 9-10 bps on my Defiant (albeit for longer strings than the retro), my fastest is by far a 99 STO w/Eclipse Blade, I can outshoot my hopper in bursts (call it 11-13bps in short bursts). Unless you have mutant fingers, or a Matrix or Angel set up to allow Juggling, it's all about how you interact with a particular trigger setup. The Retro allows a higher performance ceiling, and a trigger more people can shoot fast as opposed to the AIR valve, the downside is the necessity for HPA.2k2 VF Cocker, STO/Eclipse Blade, Old-Style 14" Boomstick,
68AutoMag Classic Feed CF11023, Ring trigger.
