The Paintball Science fair Project! (56K DEATH!)

Yup, so I went to test my question of "Close bolt vs Open Bolt" (surprising results, BTW), and took pictues. That not me in the pics, that my lame friend chris.

A couple suggestions, you might want to re run the test.

1: Use the same barrel in both guns.
2: Use two vices so you do not have to remove one gun from the vice to put in the other
2: measure two points on the barrel to the ground (making sure both guns are mounted the same height off the ground and are level)
3: Use a bubble level to confirm the level barrel
4: Chrono each shot and make a chart showing the speed of each shot

There are a few other things to keep in mind, but I got to run.

you also have to consider how the gun functions/upgrades...(for example...a spyder does not have the same bolt design as a mag...yet both are open bolt)
            Alias Intimidator (Black)
            DiRtY PiCs... ;)

            I throw bombs...well not really...

I did the same test but with a chronograph, no vice... and uh... ya

They both shot about the same distance, the mag was more consistent, but the cocker was more accurate at longer distances (Same paint Fresh Evil, Same barrel, same general velocity (Just under 300))

I know it wasn't the most scientific thing, but the stinkin thing is due on monday.

I made sure both the barrel tips were 42" from the ground.

                And 6" vices are expensive...

The results are is that u need a truck with a metal vise in the back to have any form of accuracy

looks like constants are a problem, but with some revising, it should prove to be accurate

Try to keep your initial values ( initial velocity and position) throughout your trials about the same. It would've been better if it were indoors....... but such a proposition is very difficult to do. Don't forget standard deviation.......
