Please help me with this question concerning filling a 4500 tank.

I am looking to buy a 68ci 4500psi Centerflag tank very soon and I may also be able to get my hands on a big(scuba tank size) 4500psi bottle that's used in firefighting airpacks. I want to use the big bottle to fill my paintball tank with but I can't seem to find any type of fill station (i.e. ACI Bulldog) that will allow me to fill using 4500 tanks. My local PB shop wasn't able to help me either. And since I play a lot of recball on private property, I would like to be able to refill my 68ci tank throughout the day. Please give me some help here.

Yes, they make fill stations for the big steel cylinders of nitrogen but I am not sure the valve type on an SCBA (mostly J types) would be the same as a regular cylinder(which I belive is a K type. I might ahve those reversed I am going from memory here... sorry) Some SCBA's and SCUBA's from europe are K type (again not sure if I am remembering in reverse). And you can get em here I think in HP Steel SCUBA's but not SCBA"S that I know of. Better recheck the numbers and the valve type to be sure. And then if its the K type. And call up National PB Supply and they will find you a big HP Steel tank fill station. I am sure. We have one ( a big nitrogen tank from the welding palce) but I am far away and can't get the manufacturers name off it for you.

By the way HP Steel tanks are very heavy and not very portable.

MY advice? Forgo the 4500 PSI fill cylinder. Sure get yourself a 4500 PSI Gun tank if you want, but use a regular 3300 psi SCUBA tank and live with the 3000 psi fills in your 4500 psi tank. And if you find a place that has 4500 psi fills then you will be ready to go.

i use the 4500's, very nice. gives about15-25 minutes more breathing than the 2200's

typicaly, the 4500psi firefighter packs are Scott Packs.

I 4500PSI bottle is set up to be smaller then a standard scuba system, and lightewr, but still carries the same amount of breathing time.

I looked into getting one of these about 5 years ago when I first got a 4500 tank to fill(there was no feild air around onatario at this time) , but he cost was enormous, they where 1500$ for a tank alone, then you needed to havea special fill station built for them at a cost of another 300$ . in the end I jsut went with a second scuba tank and I topped off everytime I cam off the feild.

I also found at that time the scuba (180$) and a boster of some sort(1000$) was a cheaper method and withthis set up I could actualy fill serveral guns all day long to 4500PSi. But before we spent the money on the boster and such, feild around me starteed to get 4500psi fills.

I don't think they are that expensive. That is the cost for an entire scba setup. Just buy a used tank.
