    Paint to Barrel Bore Matching

I've read all the info TK has given in his hints section, but I'm curious as to what other players think and have experienced.

I am contemplating not only getting a .689 in addition to my .687 barrel, but also picking up a .684. I'm getting a good price on them (about 30 each) and am wondering if the extra cash spent on the .684 is really worth it. I know draxxus paints are pretty small and they might fit this barrel (tell me if I'm wrong) but can't decide if I'm going to see enough improvement in consistency and accuracy to warrant spending extra money on it. I don't want to buy kits, so I'm sticking with the 1 piece barrels.

    Thanks in advance!

the only thing that's important to me about barrel matching is making sure the paint goes through without getting stuck. I have barrel kit for dealing with oversize field paint and for my autococker.

Unless you are using a closed bolt marker paint to barrel match is overrated, make sure the paint goes through, go a bit big, and you should be ok. You likely wont notice the minute loss in efficiency/accuracy/consistency that might be there. In reality I have a freak kit, I seldom use anything but my All American barrel.

I have owned a few barrel kits and now I shoot a .693 Stiffi. I haven't noticed a difference other than in a velocity change and small difference in efficiency.

Haha, I'm so anal about this stuff... Just dunno... I MAY get both if I can get a good price. But perhaps I'll just go cheap and get the bigshot.

IMO matching paint/barrel is ok but i dont think its really as big of a thing that a lot of people make it out to be.

i have a CP kit now and reguardless of the kit you really only need a small, med, large bore.
you dont need 8 different bores. paint size varies to much to make that close of match.

main thing to keep in mind is to not use a bore that is too tight. your better off having the ball fall though then to have a ball that needs a lot of pressure to get though.

hell I, along with most older players played quite a few years with one barrel.

                  If I get both barrels that means I'll have a .684, .687, .689

That's just about ALL the barrels I would buy, and it should cover pretty much anything I'd run into.

Ugh, I'm a bad decision maker when it comes to stupid things and money.

I have a kit and i tend to use an one step oversived bore fore the paint im shooting. yeah you lose abit of consistency but in the long run you will save the headache from a midgame ball break.

                      bore sizes i use: 690, 693, 695(dont own a 695, but have borrowed them)

like many have said above, the headache saved is worth the little bit of inefficiency

would you guys say that most people who don't think it makes a difference are using atleast a
                        .691 or bigger I.D.?

I agree that going a bit bigger is better than smaller.

i use a .689 on my emag, never really seen a difference when i used my friends freak.

only time i see a real difference is when i've left a bag of paint in the sun all day

Besides, i dont really try to one-shot anyone....i usually fire strings of paint and lead them to my targets kinda...
