Cutting the back off of Dye stickies?

I've been thinking of cutting the back part off of my Dye Sticky 3's so I don't have to take the rail/ASA off my Viking to change the battery. I'm wondering, has anyone done this before? Is it easy to do a nice clean job of cutting it?

i wouldnt do it..cause if you mess up,then you have some ugly grips..but its really easy if you want to try it..just use a REALLY sharp exacto knife.

not hard to do, just take an exacto or a straight raizor, and cut it in a clean slice

I did the same thing on my Viking.. I just put a slice down the middle of the back of the grip, so if I need to I can pull it open to get to the battery

That's an interesting idea, but don't the two halves of the back of the grip try to jut out or anything?

I've done it on all my markers. Just get a pair of sharp scissors. You can see a clear line to follow where the hard plastic ends on each half. It's simple. If not take it to a local school and have the 5th grade art class cut it for you.

Yeah you just need one clean cut down the back and you'll be able to slip the grips off the frame without having to take the rail off your gun

Mine stretch enough to not require full removal, whilst remaining uncut.

I cut the back of the grip off on my alias and took a big piece out of the side so you can see the lcd screen and the grip is still very functioal. I cut it using an exacto knife with the scalpel like blade attachment.
