What's the difference between the Appocalypse and the Armageddon?Originally posted by urbansixWell I just got a NIB Armageddon on ebay for $199. That's what I payed for my POS Java preset 6 months ago. He might have one more.Comment

What are the advantages/disadvantages? I looked on the AirAmerica site and it's obvious a part of the regulato unscrews with the bottle (wwhat they call the 'arm'). The only advantage I can see is if you want multiple bottle sizes it migh be slightly cheaper than multiple regulators.Originally posted by MuzikmanApoc is a fixed reg, the Armageddon is a removable reg.
And does only the Appocalypse have an On/Off?Last edited by SlartyBartFast; 12-13-2004, 01:41 PM.Comment

In order to ship a air system under current TSA standards (as I understand them) the inspector must be able to see inside the bottle - the reg must be completely removed from the bottle."Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. Its not" - Dr SuessComment

So, the 'arm' is just an empty shell that you can see into the bottle through? How is that different from unscrewing the reg directly from the bottle?Originally posted by Lohman446In order to ship a air system under current TSA standards (as I understand them) the inspector must be able to see inside the bottle - the reg must be completely removed from the bottle.

The only real advantage is the ability to remove the bottle for storage. The Armageddon was out before screw-ins were really popular. It's also before the days of QD drops and such. It was a way to take the tank off the gun without having to fool with the reg.
Yes the Apoc has an on/off. The AA Raptor was the HPA system that had no on/off or output guage.
And no, inorder to fly with an Armageddon, you would have to take the stem off. Even unscrewed from the reg, the tank can and will still have air in it.

No, that stem makes the bottle readily removeable (like the max-flo regs) - though I would not recommend doing it unless you have the proper knowledge and tools to reassemble it correctly."Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. Its not" - Dr SuessComment

You and Me both.Originally posted by Lohman446So what can I say, he obviously knows more than I do.
AirAmerica REALLY needs a comparison chart on their website.
So, is the Armageddon woth the extra money compared to the Apoc?
Why not get the cheaper Raptor Rex? The lack of a rail mount? Do you have to buy a drop separately?Comment
