Adjustable tanks for rt

Why are adjustable tanks recomended for rt's. Im planning on buying an rt pro to replace my 68 mag so i need to know why you need adjustable tank for rt's? I have a steel 68 crossfire from 99 will that work or do i need to buy a new tank as well?

Well the good thing about having an adjustable tankis that you can set the reactivness of the trigger. I have a retro valve and have a preset tank with no complaints so it is not necessary. If you have the extra cash spring for the adjustable though.

Try it first with your preset and see if it's too reactive first. If it works fine for you then don't sweat it. Plenty of people run their's off of presets.

I just bought a RT PRO, I have not shot it yet, so I was wondering if you ever got yours or if not have you found anything else out about the tank issue? I am stuck on what to do! Thanks in advance for your help, Jim

Nope never got my rt so i was planning on getting my mag a retro valve. If i do ill PM u all about it. I would just post a new message and ask ur question there.

Cool, I did post about it but did not get much of a response, One guy helped but he has a pre-set. I did just buy a 114 3000 Air America adjustable Raptor tank for 100.00 so maybe it will work!

An adjustable tank is recommend for RT's because by varying the input pressure you can adjust the reactiveness of the trigger. The more input pressure, the more reaactive the trigger is. Less pressure means less reactiveness. Depending on how you like the feel of the trigger will determine where you want the input pressure.

I have an RT Pro with a PMI 88 4500 preset and a PMI THOR secondary regulator. So I have the best of both worlds. I can run preset without the regular and adjustable with it. An adjustable secondary is a good way to preserve the investment you've already made in your preset tank and get the benefits of an adjustable. If you have concerns of using multiple regulators, buy an adjustable tank and you can accomplish the same thing. LOL

I see, so really all it does anything to is the trigger action? It will not screw up the accuracy or distance if there is too much or too little air going into the gun? If not then I will just adjust to the trigger response and get a pre-set. Thanks for your help.
