hey i have a emag with the 3.2 board and i was wondering for the battery setup, if it was possible at all to take out the battery pack it comes with and setting it up to run off of say like a 9v or a 9.6v battery, cause im getting a little tired of the battery eithernot takkin a full charge or not charging period

I think the E/X mags run on 18 volts, so you'd need to run two 9V batteries in series to get the same voltage.
    My feedback is available here.

sounds like you might have a problem with either your battery or your charger. id have them checked out by agd to see if there is a problem and possible get a new one.(charger or battery)

GOOD QUESTION - I"VE HAD ONE BAD BATTERY AND ONE BAD CHARGER MYSELF

The $80 bucks for a new charger sucks!

FWIW, the voltage isn't what matter to push the Emag solenoid - you need something with some deep pockets to shove that thing at 20bps.

agd may have stopped making the emag/xmag, but that doesnt mean they wont still support them. look at the classic rt...they still offer support for them though they were discontinued. not to mention, ive seen the instructions on how they are made, and if need be im sure they could make one fairly quickly.

Do you have a link to the instructions? It would be cool to have them on hand. As I stated before, the real issue is with the charger. Evidently they were made exclusively for AGD and are for certain expensive. I've heard seveal complaints of them going bad and experienced it myself - for a loss of $80. What would really be nice would be to have someone post how to refurish one when it craps out.

The HUGE solinoid would suck those 9V's dry in a few shots.
