    filling from scuba

alright this weekend i will be using my new hpa tank and i have a friend who is bringing his scuba tank with him for me to refill(i will be getting a tank soon). There should be two tanks out there this weekend and we are going to use both. I have a fill adapter. Will it be worth it to go back and forth onthe tanks to get them topped off. I have a xstream 68/45. I figure i will just shoot until i get below 3000 and then top the tank off after every game. If i have read right i should get about 3 good 3000 fills, from about 800 and fill it back up to 3000 right. Does this sound right. If i start from 800 or so will i get 3 fills from that. Could i get more if i fill mostly up from one tank and then top it off. Also i figure i should get around 1000 shots from my tank on a full full and then about 600-700 shots off of a 3000 fill. Does this sound right. This is my first time playing with this tank, and also filling my tank myself. I have read up on this i just want to make sure i get it right. Oh the gun is a sweet tac-one i got from tunaman(great guy).

    thanks

i uses scubas to fill tanks alot, and in my experience it is best to continually top off the tank on the gun every time you come off the field if its below the pressure in the scuba. if you have 2 scubas, once one hits about 2700, then use it, and then use the one still at 3000.

edit: ive used rows of scubas to play once, and every time one would get 300 lower, then we'd move to the next tank and so on down the line until we were finally using all tanks to do fills. kinda time comsuming to use all the tanks, but we had about 20 guys using 5 tanks for an entire day.

i should be fine with 2 tanks for 2 guys we shoot about a case to a case and a half a day. Some games i shoot maybe 50 then others i can shoot 500+. This is woodsball by the way.

You have a SCUBA tank that holds over 4500psi? It would have to get 2 45K fills. Where did you get that tank? The highest I've seen a SCUBA tank go is 4350psi and that uses a DIN valve so the paintball tank standard fill adaptor wont work.

Where did you get the adaptor for a DIN valve? I'd love to be able to use my HP SCUBA tanks for paintball.

            Tramp,
PM akscubainst, he made an adapter for me to use my 4.5kpsi SCBAs to fill.
Haven't seen him post lately but its worth a shot.

I fill my tank to 4.5k then take a 3k scuba with me. I get 1700 shots off a single fill so once I break into the scuba range I top off as much as possible so I'm eating up more pressure than volume.

                  thanks

1700 shots off a 4500 fill, thats sweet, whats your setup. I think i will be fine for a day of paintballin with 2 scubas and the 2 of us using it. The other guy has a cocker so i dont think he will use as much air as i will.

I technically got more, but the last hopperfull was a little lower than 285 so i dont count those. That was on my 03 Angel Speed with Retro Fly upgrade with my crossfire tank. I have yet to see how my joy divisions will do.
