    regulator

    Hi all,

Newbie question here. I am going to get a uni-mount and I want to know if I should get a regulator also. I have an X-mag and I am running a PMI 68/45 tank with output at 850 psi. Would it be worth anything to get the reg and run it at 700 psi. Any help on this one would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

leave it, dont try to add a regulator, it will only starve the valve of pressure. also, most preset tanks arent exactly accurated on their output, so just leave the output at 850 if it works good now.

Yupppppp theres absolutly no need to add the third reg because the reg on the valve dose a fantastic job at regulating the pressure. Where did you plan on putting it anyways?

mags dont need regs when run on N2.

reg on bottle + reg in valve = 2 regs already. adding another would just restrict flow, as people have already said

Hang on a second. If you are tring to get better consistancy then a reg set a a lower input that your tank might help.

Only if the gun you are regulating uses a mid to low pressure input. You want a drop of at least 200psi between regs for good recharge. His tank outputs ~850 so you'd have to drop to at least 650 to keep any recharge speed. The L10 in his X-Mag isn't going to work very well with that low on an input.

Plus, as everyone else said.....where would you put the reg?

P.S. Yes I know it could be done but come-on.

It can be mounted on the bottom of the frame. Like a female Stabilizer, Max-Flo, and Thor regulator. You can also mount a Sideline Stab. on the side of the Valve.

Unless he is shotting super fast he will not have noticable shootdown.

PS: DyeHero, If you can find one of the regs for a good price, then you should try it.

Like I said, yes it can be done but I got shoot down when using an extra reg on a single trigger Retro Mag. I think perhaps he might just be able to shoot his X-Mag a little faster than I could shoot the Retro.

Dyehero, go ahead and spend the money if you need to see things first hand and can't trust the experiance of pretty much all the rest of us.
