I got one from Doc, I had to wait a while , but it wasn't unreasonable. Before you posted here, did you try getting a hold of him? I'm sure he would fix things right away if he knew something was messed.

Aight after reading crap I now want to tell Doc that I don't care if your busy as hell. I don't care if people don't send you their name with the e-mail. I don't care if your wrapping up another garage sale.

I follow the rules. Everytime I e-mail you I give my name, address, phone #, and follow all the instructions that you give. The only time you have answered was the first one I sent and you told me it would be here in about a week. 3 months later, NOTHING.

I'm not trying to give you a bad name or reputation, I'm not like that. I just want the item I paid for. It's very simple. Pack the item, then send it to me. How hard can it be.

Sorry for acting like a jerk, but it just isn't fair for the people that follow your instructions. But then again, life isn't fair.

Posting here is less than likely to get attention or response from Doc...

He would have to accidently find it. That just isn't reasonable.

I won't sing the song so many sing about Doc being really busy, and that you should know better and expect such delays. That isn't reasonable either.

Shoot him a couple more emails. If that doesn't get a response post a brief polite message on the tinkers guild board. Apologize for taking space there for something off topic, and include as much info as possible.

If any of the regulars pops off at you, ignore them. Keep the issue between you and Doc.

Doc is an honest guy and runs an honest business. His operations need some fine tuning, and that slows him down. He is popular and gets more business than he can handle. He always thinks he can handle more the he can, thats just like a lot of us.

Add to this the fact that lately people have been trying to rip him off lately. They have have been making complaints on the boards for work they didn't order or pay for. They are trying to convince him he screwed up, and that he owes them a freebie.

I am not trying to make excuses for Doc Nickel. I am not attempting to speak for him. The above advice is simply an educated opinion on the best way to deal with your problem.

If he's that popular then he should have plenty of money to hire some help. I say 3 months is rediculous no matter what.

                  I didn't say it wasn't riciculous...

I just gave him some good advice on how to get his stuff ASAP and without too much trouble.

It is ridiculous to wait that long no matter what. But, you should know from reading dozens of posts, that ordering from him is hit or miss. Luck of the draw kind of thungs. I say, go with dealers you can call, and get the order packed and shipped when you order it. This is not a slam on Doc at all, he is an airsmithing genious. Now, I love The Whiteboard comic, but maybe he needs to spend less time on his webcomic and more time getting stuff done closer to when promised? And he does answer email when he can, I've asked him just if he could do a few things, and he replied with good ideas!

                          EVERYONE gives Doc ****

I'll be honest. there was a period where i was waiting on a piece of work and he quoted me 4-6 weeks. 10 months later, i was PISSED. But i realized something. The man works as hard as he can. Yeah, youre little asa may have gotten placed on the back burner. yeah, it may have taken a while. but dammit hes doing his best. he could earn a better living working at mcdonalds. so telling him to hire help is horse****. he stays up late hours working on all the jobs he has. but you know what? he enjoys it. Know what he doesn't enjoy? greedy ****s like you whining about everything.

Posting this question on AO won't get your work done any faster, thats for sure. I can promise you this. He does all work and is candid about the fact that it will get done when it gest done. No sooner. He may estimate how long it will take, but thats just an estimate.

Sorry for the rant....but all the idiots who complain about doc taking forever just piss me off. hes barely making a living and all people seem to want to do is rip him apart.

You're absolutely right. Complaining won't help the situation go any faster. (it will probably make it go slower) That's not the point. It's not like he gave me an estimate of 6 - 8 weeks. He said one or two at the most.

Also, what does he do with the money people send him for products that he never gets around to. That soumds like a good business to me. Have people order a product, never send it, and keep the money. I'm sure that not what he does, but if he's not gonna send me my product than atleast give me a refund. $40 doesn't sound like a lot, but that's $40 I don't have anymore.

Aight I'm done complaining. I just want people to feel my pain.

When some people want something, they want it now. Things don't work that way. Just because you see a picture of something doesn't mean he has 10,000 in stock and ready to go. Sometimes projects go in a preconcieved order. 1 project gets finished, then the next one is started. Sometimes vendors get the wrong material in and it has to be replaced. There are a lot of reasons for things to get screwed up.
Doc isn't known as the fastest person in the world, but his products are 1st rate. I've bought from him and had to wait. No big deal.

if you want your money back, go to the PO and have them revoke the MO you sent... they're more than happy to do it, if in fact you ever sent one, or it ever got to Doc.

I've had more than one MO never get where it was supposed to go, the claim takes a few days to process.
