if the tank pressure is too low it leaks right down the barrel.

I can get mine to engage at well under 1,000 now, but I messed with my level 10 alot, and my set-up is VERY well broken in now...had that bolt staying forward and venting air issue when my RT was brand spanking new.

Most mags can't effectively shoot below approx 800-900 psi without considerable recharge time.

True. But my Mag works well down to lower pressures. 800 is a bit high for it to stop working.

mine starts chuffing at around 1k and stops working at about 800 according to my tank!! gauge is pretty close to accurate though.

I start getting a bit nervous below 1500psi & really nervous at about 1000psi. I usually try to refill after every trip back to the staging area (all day air is a good, good thing) to avoid any low pressure issues out in the middle of an engagement.

I can shoot my Emag down to about 600 psi before it quits on me. I have very little warning because, true to the design of the valve, velocity remains pretty much spot on until it quits. If I can notice dropoff, I only have a few shots left. This RARELY happens, as the fields I play offer all day air.
