A Day of Paintball....and funny looks!

Well, I went out and played indoor paintball for the first time this last saturday. It was only the second time i''ve played speedball, but it was fun. I think the best time I had was watching as people did double takes at my Mag. They'd be walking around the staging area, looking at everyone's gear, and I was the only one there with a mag, and the only one getting those, "what the heck is that" looks
Before one of the games, as the refs were splitting us up (according go gun speed, I guess) He split an e-spyder and an e-bladed cocker then he got to me, paused, then said "is that an E-Blade?" I almost fell over. "No, man. It's a mag!"
"oh," he says. "...mag..." I don't think he knew what to think of that one

Another guy was there. He was a great player and had a be-a-utiful new shocker. I said I thought it was pretty and how I loved how it had that sleek, no stack design. He says, "yeah, it's a real nice gun and an ingenious design" refering to the single tube. I looked at him blankly and held up my mag. "Circa: 1991"
    He blinked.

But, to make a long story short, my no ult mag did a nice job of holding it's own against all the dm4's, e-blades, etc. that where out there. It was so nice to be back out playing again after soooooo long. Thanks to RogueFactor and AGD for all the great parts. They got stares people

EDIT: Guess I should mention. I did meet one AO member there, but I was so concentrating on my game and so tired afterwards, I forgot his name. I'm horrible

Haha that was me you newblet!

I just realized after reading the entire post that it was you, ya man I always confront people with mags, we only stayed for a couple games afterwords.

The other guy you played with, Brandon or RetroEclipseMan

We both had mags back in the day, the guys who divide up teams are tards, they have good intentions, but they should be dividing it up by skill, not the gun. Because I asked him if I had camo and a tippmann if I could play with the rentals, and he said sure.

I would just mow through the rentals even with a tippmann.

Anyways, glad you had fun, and I hope you keep coming out, DBS is a great place.

I'll be there again 12-3 on saturday.

I love being able to hold my own with a single trig. w/o ULT. Feels like you actually accomplished something when you get someone out. Sounds like a great day.
Hey, look at that! It's Santa!

The next time I hear "Where did you get that space frame for your shocker?" I might just shoot them, with a .45.

BLAZESTORM! Yeah......um....sorry about that. Played all day on 3 hours sleep then worked all night. Memory is bad enough. I guess we'll be playing DBP about every month or so. I work nights, so it's a delicate timing issue. We're gonna try CDR paintball in Mt. Vernon sometime here soon..... It was a very fun day, though.

CDR Is a good group of guys, it's a bit muddy up there and no official speedball, but you'll have fun

Their field is www.paintballstation.com I used to play for their team...

I love going to a field where they don't know me carrying the old classic mag and sporting my Camos.....I mean I wear Camos all the time anyway , but the fields that know me defiantely don't judge me by it.

Anyway , its a fun turkey shoot for a few rounds till they figure me out. Then I go break out the Trix.....lol

That's me in a nut shell also - lol! When I jumped back into the sport this past year, everytime some kid would ask me what "kind of gun is that" - I would say, "it's a mag" and think to myself "DUH!"

To me, the mag was the flagship marker of the sport for so long that I, at first, couldn't understand why so many younger people had to ask what it was. I've since gotten quite a few of the younger crowd at one of the local fields interested in getting one. Kids these days know nothing other than electric. As for me..."I don't need no stinking electric"

one time at the field i played up front and got out early, and the guy at back center ran back to me to trade guns because his timmy broke. he ran back to his bunker, started walking the trigger, looked at the gun for a moment, and then shouted back "hey, how the hell do you turn on this thing?!" i had to show him how to turn off the safety.

I was asked once this last summer if the Emag was a shocker! That does kind of suck! When I told him what it was he asked, "whats level10"? Weird...
