Any chance we can move the ban list to the bottom of the forum list

I don't presume to try to tell anyone how to run this forum... I do sometimes make suggestion. The ban list at the very top, is just not inviting, very few people have a reason to see if they are on the list - its not our top thing, its not the most important to the forum... could we move it to the bottom so that we don't have to see it everytime... it does carry negative suggestions to a lot of people, and especially new members I think.

Just my opinion, very often wrong.

This is an excellent idea. I agree that it is an eye sore, especially to potential new users. A simple relocation would do the trick!

Just at the bottom of the Forums list instead of the top should do the trick.

At the top it's the first thing I notice when I come here.

But I think that's the problem. If that's the first thing a new user sees, they may automatically think we are a bunch of rules Nazis that ban at the drop of a hat. I really don't think that's the kind of image we should portray. I like the idea of relocating it to the bottom of the forum list. It'll still get seen, but it's not so prominent that a newbie will freak out and get scared away.

              please move it.
I don't come here to focus on that.
              Thanks

That Ban List is in the perfect location. You forget that it also has the revised rules. What better thing for users to see when they first join? Even better, they can see what doesn't fly around here before they even join. What's wrong with that? Nothing.

Why hide the rules and the consequences that come with breaking them?

That Ban List is one of the best things to happen to AO. It took a lot to get it up there, why argue about where it is?

                Edited for quotes.

Then don't? Honestly, if you come to the site and can't help but focus on the ban list, then maybe you just don't care enough about the rest of the content.

Who care's if it's enviting? IT'S THE RULES. Why bury the rules in Friendly Corner when you can stick them up where everyone can see them? Also, it IS one of the most things on this forum. Where you paying a lick of attention to the recent events? If that ban list had been there a month ago, we wouldn't have dozens and dozens of people with "OMG FREE LPB REVOLUSHUN BBQ" In their sigs. Knowing who broke the rules and what the consequences were for breaking those rules is pretty damn important.

Good point. It can be used as a way to filter out the faint of heart.
