Why does most paintball companies annoes their markers dust???

I've been wondering why does every paintball company only do dust anno on their markers???? Whats the problem with polish/brite finishes???

I personally dont like dust cuz all the acesories are in polish and well i think polish is much more durable than dust.

i dont think most companies do ano dust,

only dust ano'd markers with non- gloss options i can think of- DYE/proto markers (gloss avaliable, but, not as often as dust. AKA markers are typicially dust as well, other than that, i cant think of a ton of only-dust markers/companies

Because it takes a HUGE amount of time to polish compared to bead blasting....

i think it's to hide the rushed milling they all do. dust seems to hide toolmarks really well.

Dust = Hides fingerprints and machining marks.

Polished = Takes more time, and imo looks worse.

Dust gives it a more distinct look, and just looks better imo, polished never looks good, chrome/nickel never looks good.

Just opinion, they're switching to dust because more people want it.

Rushed milling? Theres no way of cutting something with out leaving a tool mark of some kind.

The stuff I polish takes up to an hour, I can bead blast that same part in less than a minute.

Also, scratchs are harder to see in dust ano's. I love dust on Vikings and Excals., but nothing else. I stick with black becuase I'm colorblind, so I never know what looks good.

If you move the tool slower, there's going to be less swirl marks.

And dust just looks plain better.

ah the horrible finger prints on polish annoy me. I've owned matte finish guns and polish i like matte more only because its seems like you can get matte body perfectly clean.

So less swiral marks don't qualify as
a tool mark of some kind.

That is not true. In fact, if you go slower, you leave more tool marks.

An end mill leaves a mark on every single revolution, with every single tooth. The depth and variation of said marks depend on how sharp the tool is, and how stiff the machine and setup is. Can you minimize them to the point that they don't show? Sure, in some situations, but never in all situations. You will always have some tool marks, chatter marks, something. Hell, even a random chip jumping between the cutting edge and the part will cause a mark to be left. This is in the nature of the beast, its not gonna go away.

By and large, I think PB companies do a remarkable job removing the tool marks, to the point now that people are spoiled (if any little thing shows, its automatically junk). I personally like the look of a part that is just ano'ed right off the machine. Call it satin, whatever, I like the tool marks.

Dust is popular with players because it is lower maintenance than gloss, its popular with manufacturers because it is at least an order of magnitude faster to apply than a high shine.

If people want to complain about something, I'd complain about the crappy base metal that some of these companies are using, not the overall finish of the part.

Not a problem my good man.

I've seen your work, you yourself are quite knowledgable in this field as well.

I think its good for the player in general to get a little reality check every once in a while. So, even if its nearly pointless, I do so love to administer them.

                              Have a good one.
