My new (to me) Defiant!

Yay! just got me defiant from dsrkd here on AO. Custom milled in the back for the lightness and the leetness. I'm pretty happy so far (just unpacked like 1 hour ago).





Anyone want to tell me how to get the trigger lighter? I've got the pull pretty short, but that spring is prett heavy it feels like, And I don't know how to get to it.

having alot of fun right now just walking around clicking the trigger and waiting till I can go into portland to get myself an ASA and some macro. then it's time.

ahhh the first bob long guns..

looks like it could use some tlc and maybe a re-anno too but im digging the milling.

to remove the trigger youl have to remove the top push pin with a...er i cant recall the name but the flat metal puncher thingys. pin punchers?
the top one is for the trigge and the two right ones are for the microswitch if i remember.

i replaced my spring with one from a ballpoint pin that i cut and stretched. it was pretty good and you can set it up however you like.

Unfortunately it looks like quite some time. If you can send me one without too much trouble, I would be VERY grateful...

On another note, if it ever gets re-annoed, I won't be doing it, I like the way it looks, nice purple fade. And As to adjusting it, I take off the frame (not sure how) and then take out the pins?

So far I've owned atleast one example of every Bob Long gun except the Timmy. I owned that Defiant for about two months. When I had it, I had a 16" Ultralight, PMI 68/45, and a revy on it. It got alot of attention at the field, Ill tell you what.

Can you give me the specs? Is there anything special about it, other than milling.

The Roll pins need to be removed using a metal tap or punch . ACE usualy has these kits for a few $.
Remove the gripframe and BE GENTLE with the wires.
After that is done take a roll of tape and place it under the frame (this will cushion the impact of the hammer and prevent anno scarring..or moms nice dining room table:)
Now...I use a finishing hammer to remove pins in my markers ...thats so I dont get the "heat" behind it and drive it through the table.
Place the correct sized tap onto the roll pin and ...hammer it . Pay attention to the pin after each strike ...you may see it start to mushroom ...this can be an issue and may not allow you to get it back in.
As for springs...ACE again and just play around with them cutting and stretching.
My personal set up on a stock trigger was cut 1 and 1/2 coils out of it and stretch it.
