    APM tigershark bolt

    does anybody have one?

i've got one, and i've had it for about 8 months now in my dragun TES. i really liked it up until now.
yesterday, i picked up my gun ( i havent used it in about 2 months), and pulled the bolt and hammer out to lube it. all the lube that was on it before i put it away, was gone.
as i was pulling it out, i noticed that it was REALLY hard to pull the bolt out. and so i tried putting the bolt back in to check if it was in fact the bolt that was getting stuck. it was.
i never lubed the bolt, because you arent supposed to, it does it on its own.

well, i conclude that the lube from the hammer, over time, went into the front part of the bolt, where the air moves through it, and made it swell. great. i checked to see if the back of the bolt gets stuck, nope, its alright.
soooo. just a little while ago, i was researching the bolt, and it seems that the company went out of business or something. none of the links to the website work. and the review for it under dragun upgrades on pbreview.com, is not there anymore.

i sanded it for a little bit, trying my best to sand it the same all the way around it. i was useing 800 grit sand paper. it still didn't fit right. so i stepped up to some 220 grit, and sanded lightly, then went over it again with 800 grit. i repeated this several times, and the bolt still doesn't fit.

do any of you have any suggestions about how to fix it? or should i just keep sanding.
i really dont want to buy another bolt.

thankyou for taking your time to read this and post a response.

My best sudgestion is to continue to sand the bolt as evenly as you can. Something to consider is if you can put the bolt onto a power drill and sand it that way you'll get a more even diameter and you'll increase your rate of material removal (an old trick for how to taper wooden dowels)

i thought of that, but i dont think my drills or drill press can open up their grabby teeth things that far.
i also want to get this done soon soon. not in a week when i could take it into school and use the mills or lathes.
      i'll go check.

If your chuck won't open far enough you should be able to grab on to some other portion of the bolt. If nothing else I imagine you could buy a super long screw that could thread into the back of the bolt (I know yo ucan do this with Spyder bolts) and stick that into the chuck.

          bolt

I bought one for my autococker....I live in FL and we have pretty decent humidity here...tried sanding, the material just isnt conducive to use. I emailed the company no response.....maybe try an actual delrin bolt....Tigershark is made out of Nylatron (whatever that is). If you have a SPyder clone, Kingman made a springloaded version. Check that out.

Use your stock bolt... bolts don't make a huge difference in Spyders and related markers anyway.

              quoted for emphasis

bolts make little to no diff other than overall reciprocating mass and..uhm..
              friction

              results usualy arent noticeable

Very true, the best bolt I have ever found for my spyder was the stock one.

i got it sanded to where it feels like it should work fine. nope. too much resistance, it wont re-cock.
so i put in the stock bolt, that fits in there really loose. really loose. and it fires fine.
but i would like to use the other bolt, because i dont like the wear that happens on the stock bolt. it scratches up the chamber and stuff.
it seems that sanding is starting to work. so i'll keep at it.
