    Gun Upgrades

Hey, i am rather new to paintballing as far as the choice in markers and such, so i am just curious as to what upgrades you can make on any particular gun, and what the benifits are from those upgrades ie: barels, hoppers etc and what effect it has on the gun, Can anyone help me out?....Thanks for your time

There are quite a few great FAQ's for new players available on WARPIG. Not trying to pimp their site of anything, but the info is quite comprehensive. It's really too general a subject just to post a reply to...

Just a basic view...use HPA, use good paint, get a powered loader.

Those three things will make a big differance with ANY marker.

    And welcome to the forums.....

A good agitated hopper like the VL Revolution or the Empire Reloader are good choices if you're not shooting more than 8-12 BPS. If you have a higher end tourney type gun, you'll need a force feed hopper like the Halo.

There is a lot of controversy surrounding which barrel to use. My opinion, based on the testing I have seen done, is that any barrel over $50 is good, as long as you buy paint that matches well to the bore. Most nice guns come with sufficient barrels.

Depending on which gun you choose, there are a huge variety of other upgrade options. Most guns (except the 'Mag) benefit from a better quality reg than what comes factory.
      My feedback is available here.

        very true...

It all comes down to what gun you deside to get.
        to name a few:
        boards
        regs
        barrels
        bolt kits
        eye upgades
        ect.....

        Edit: Welcome to AO!

and stickers, lots of stickers. every 5 stickers you have on your gun adds 1 bps increase.

everyone already gave you good advice.
halo or reloader b loader is top of the line
          barrel kit of any kind
decent hpa tank (crossfire, pure energy, mac dev, centerflag)
          spare parts kit for breakdowns
          uni-mount or rail asa (preference)

I dont know to much about tippmans, but you could get an Ebolt. Also a barrel kit would be nice, and a HPA tank would make your gun more consisant, hope this helps

                98 custom mods

My team mate has a "hand me down" 98 custom. The first upgrade he got was a "Star Bolt" followed by a dye barrel, red dot, expansion chamber and powered hopper. As far as asthetics go you can do about anything with a 98. Right now we are trying to solve the cold weather problem with a nitro set up.
Another team member just picked up a brand new 98RT with a nitro tank. It ripped all day long in the snow.
                To sum it up:
                -Star bolt
                -upgrade barrel
                -powered hopper
and be aggressive with that marker, for some reason the mags on our team out shoot it, but with the right attitude you can fill the dead zone with a 98.
